In the previous paper I, we concerned with the structural viscosity of concentrated solution, or soft solid of high polymers on the model of the “loose network” formation of chain molecules, useing the “breaking function” of square well type. Papers II, III were written to treat the more general rheological equations of those systems.
The present subjects are again the viscosities which correspond not only to simple shearing as usual but also to simple elongation, i.e. creep, and to the general breaking functions. Although it is only possible to obtain the viscosities at two limiting velocities of deformation, i.e. zero and infinity, the differences between these two viscosities are not small. At the limit of zero velocity, however, so-called Trouton's formula is obtained.
