The author studied the influence of infra-red rays upon the electrocardiogram, and the results were as follow. By the irradiation the height of P wave increased, that of E and T wave decreased and P〜Q interval was shortened. And 30 minutes after the irradiation, these changes recovered almost to the condition before the irradiation. Comparing the above-mentioned change with the change of electrocardiogram by warm bath, in the case of P wave, both of them were similar; and in that of B wave, the change by warm bath was irregular to increase or to decrease, but it decreased more or less in each case by the irradiation of infra-red rays. And the height of T wave increased in warm bath, but it decreased by the irradiation of infra-red rays. Such difference between these two changes should be due to that, by the irradiation of infra-red rays, the examinee WHS lying quietly, and the influence of heat was relatively far-reaching because of the penetrating power of infra-red rays into deep tissue.
