This study analyzes which of the various tourism experiences of travelers evoke place attachment. There have been many reports on the relationship between tourists' attributes and motivations for visiting and their attachment to a region. However, there has been limited research on the effects of destination experiences on place attachment. In order to understand the unique and specific experiences of each traveler, this study conducted the open-ended questions method of tourism experiences. Text mining was applied to the free description data of the tourism experience in the case of Ishikawa, and characteristic words that specifically appear in the layer with a high level of place attachment were extracted and analyzed. As a result, it became clear that three factors of the tourism experience, which have not been emphasized in existing studies, “recalling memories after the visit,” “contact with historical activities,” and “ discovering things unique to the region,” arouse place attachment.

In Japan, forestry is facing serious problems involving a decrease in the number of forestry workers and an increase of aging population in the local community. For that reason, poorly managed and devastated forests are scattered throughout the country. This paper focused to promote proper forest management in the local community by inflowing external funds into the local community by utilizing J-credit derived from forest management. Forest management using J-credit can often be seen in public forests, and it was found that the profits of J-credit generated by forest management accounts for only a small proportion of the total cost for actual forest management. It is necessary to expand and disseminate J-credit in order to promote proper forest management. In addition, in order to expand and disseminate J-credit, the value of J-credit derived from forests should be evaluated not only by the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed, but also the multifaceted public functions of forests. Furthermore, in terms of sales strategy for J-credit, it will be necessary to increase purchases from business entities outside the local community while securing local business entities that make repeated purchases.

We analyzed the regional economic effects of the market using the regional value-added analysis that has been mainly used in Germany. As a result, the regional added value of the market was six times as much as that of a shopping center with certain assumptions. This is because the products sold in the market are high value-added products, and many of the market owners are sole proprietors living in the area. In order to create the market that enhances the added value of the region, it is necessary to focus on regional resources. In addition, the regional added value of hanare was five times higher than that of conventional chain hotels whose capital is outside the region. In this study, it was demonstrated that the regional economic effect may change significantly depending on the operation form of the town development project.

The largest milk distribution organization in Japan is Hokuren in Hokkaido. With the opening of ferry routes and the evolution of refrigeration technology, we have been able to stably export raw milk to the Kinki region. Hokuren is contributing to the growth of dairy companies located in Hyogo Prefecture. However, dairy farming in Hyogo Prefecture is declining due to a decrease in raw milk production. Hyogo Prefecture has fallen behind in increasing the scale of dairy farming compared to Hokkaido. Hyogo Prefecture formed the Hyogo Prefecture Dairy Agricultural Cooperative to unite the five dairy unions. The new company took on the debt and the Hyogo Dairy Agricultural Cooperative has restarted. However, as soon as the union's debt was resolved, the union split into large and small dairy farmers. The closure of dairy workers due to the division of the union has led to a decrease in milk production.

This study aims to understand how the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters conducted its community outreach and how it continued these community outreach. The results of this study revealed three findings. First, the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters conducted a variety of community outreach throughout the year. Second, the team interacted with the same local communities. Third, the team used proceeds from charity auctions and donations from fans to build the Fighters Fund, which was then used for the advancement of community outreach. This model, in which fans support the team through charity auctions and donations and the team supports local communities with the funds raised, could provide useful directions for future community outreach in professional sports.

Tourism is changing from group travel to travel that meets individual needs. Recently, it has been pointed out that it is necessary to discover local treasures and formulate strategies to make tourism resources valuable. In this study, we considered that the effect on the discovery of tourism resources can be exerted by the help of Outsiders Participation and conducted a verification in which people from outside the region participated in a group that gathered people from within the region. This was recorded and verbatim, followed by analysis using the Modified Grounded Theory Approach (M-GTA). As the result, it was proven that the condition of the interest to the region had the high possibility of promoting the rediscovery of the attractiveness, even if it is not the outsider who is related to the region for a long time, and that the effect can be expected even in the short period. In addition, it is shown that the act of comparing the target area with others by outsiders may change the way of thinking about the area and strongly encourage the rediscovery of attractiveness.

In this study, we focused on the components that form the basis for building a comprehensive community care system. It is the life planning data of each elderly person who will be the beneficiary. Unless these trustworthy data are secured, it is difficult to say that the construction of a comprehensive community care system is sufficient. Therefore, we decided to conduct this study in Shima City, Mie Prefecture, where there are medical and nursing care professionals who are the main actors in the construction of a comprehensive community care system, and where a research cooperation system is in place. In addition, the following hypotheses were obtained in this study. 1) By implementing the research method (interactive approach) that the author has cultivated in the field of community development and human resource education, it may be possible to provide useful data to local medical care workers. 2)It may be possible to obtain the data using various approaches depending on the environment of the elderly. The purpose of this study was to present a method for collecting life planning data for each elderly person who will be the beneficiary of a community-based comprehensive care system. As a result, in the interactive approach, we were able to obtain useful life planning data in both (I) the individual method (interviews) and (II) the small group method (workshops using the “Life Game from Age 60”). In particular, in the (I) individual method, we were able to obtain more accurate data on life planning because we were able to listen deeply to the lives of the individuals. On the other hand, it took three to four hours of interviewing per person, and it required a lot of time and human effort to collect the data. (II) In the small group method, we developed a workshop tool called “Life Game from 60”, which took about 1.5 hours per game to complete. Another advantage of using a board game that is recognized by everyone was that it lowered the threshold for the elderly to participate. In addition, we were able to play the game with a certain number of people (maximum: three to four), which was an improvement over the individual method of data collection. On the other hand, it was not possible to obtain deeper data on the lives of individuals than with the individual method.

The purpose of this study is to present the hypothesis of the development model of the evaluation system in local governments, and to compare and verify the hypothesis of the development model by observing the cases of three cities. The development model hypothesis was constructed from previous quantitative studies and previous theoretical studies. The cases selected three cities with high reliability of qualitative data. As a result of the verification, the hypothesis of the development model can be accepted provisionally. The remaining problems are the following two. Because the cases that are open to the public tend to be good, selection bias may occur. Some local governments have not introduced the evaluation system or have abolished it. These cases need to be investigated and the hypothesis of the development model revised.

When regional revitalization is happening with some pioneer projects, it is essential for sustainable local development that the residents get enough information about these new initiatives and accept them. In this study, we investigated “the bus tour project of the town for its residents” in Kamiyama Town, Tokushima Prefecture, and tried to clarify how and why local innovations were disseminated to the majority of the residents, while applying Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory. As a result, it was confirmed that the bus tour is an effective method for municipal public relations that uses the network of existing residents' groups and allows the majority of the residents who have diverse levels of local concerns to join the tour, compared with trying to involve its residents via mass communication.

Population decline and aging are major issues in developed countries including Japan. In discussing regional revitalization, the issues of an aging society cannot be avoided because the situation is particularly serious in rural areas. There is a need to consider how to respond to an aging society from various angles, taking into consideration cases from other countries as well as domestic institutional theory. In particular, since the introduction of the long-term care insurance system, a “quasi-market” where people requiring long-term care can freely choose services will be created socially, so research based on marketing theory is becoming more important. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed long-term care needs with CHARLS Data based on the hypothesis of market segmentation, targeting China, which is aiming to introduce the long-term care insurance system nationwide in 2020. As a result, it has become clear that the need for long-term care related to mental care is the highest, the need for long-term care related to living care increases as the elderly and living with their children, women who do not live with children in urban area have higher needs for long-term care related to medical care, and unmarried women living in rural areas have higher needs for long-term care needs related to mental care.

In an aging society with low birthrates, the aging rate is high in small municipalities nationwide. However, there are many areas where the aging rate is high locally, such as in the aging of housing complexes in new towns, and a response is required from the perspective of community development. The purpose of this survey was to understand the actual situation of the declining birthrate and aging population in such housing complexes, and to summarize current problems and explore issues in running neighborhood associations by conducting interviews with the board members who run the neighborhood associations. The target of the survey was S-danchi in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, which can be said to be a community with a high level of residents’ autonomy, but has not been able to provide solutions to the structural problem of low birthrate and aging population. I believe that support measures are needed on a level other than the awareness and motivation of existing residents.
