A novel membrane reactor process using porous α-Al
2O
3 tube loaded with silver–strontium catalyst realized direct O
2 epoxidation of propylene with notable selectivity of propylene oxide. Segregated feed of propylene and O
2 combined with facile permeation of reactants and products across the membrane was essentially important for the membrane epoxidation process.

Various chemical oxidants were investigated for their capability to oxidize brownmillerite SrCoO
2.5 to perovskite SrCoO
3−δ. Among the oxidants tested, KMnO
4/HCl was found to be the strongest to yield SrCoO
3−δ with δ≈0.06.

In this contribution, a resonance light-scattering (RLS) detection method is proposed for the measurements of oscillating reaction with H
2O
2–KSCN–CuSO
4–NaOH close system as an example. The seasonal change of oscillating chemical reactions concerning the particle size is examined, and the qualitative analytical information could be obtained from this straightforward and expeditious approach.

Disilacycloalkadienes with bridged halophenylene rings have been successfully synthesized via ring-closing metathesis reactions. Molecular structures of these macrocycles were fully characterized by NMR spectroscopies and X-ray crystallography. The Sonogashira coupling reactions of the macrocycles with phenylacetylene did not proceed probably owing to severe steric hindrance during the reactions.
