A survey was administered to a total of 60 students (30 first-year students and 30 third-year students) who use WebCT. Among the fiber contents, wool and polyester had an average rating of over 4.0 across all of the microphotograph categories. With regards to basic textile weaves, satin weave was rated poorly in many categories compared to plain weave or twill weave.
Both first- and third-year students noticed a significant difference in wool and polyester in fiber contents, and in plain weave, twill weave 1 and twill weave 2 in structural contents. Furthermore there was a significant difference in the structural microphotographs and the full structural diagram categories when each picture was viewed separately. It is thought that because the third-year students could properly recognize the images, having already completed all of their laboratory subjects, they were able to gain a better understanding.
Overall, we received good results from the viewpoint of the contents being easy to use and easy to understand. It is thought that in the future these contents could be used by students who have missed class or as supplementary study.
