An analysis of calcium and strontium in the enamel and dentin of incisor of rat maintained on the diets added strontium in the diets with the different calcium contents was performed, using X-ray microanalyzer. In control rat, the difference between the level of line of calcium deposition in enamel and that in dentin was seen, and the level in dentin was lower than that in enamel. Strontium element was hardly detected in enamel and dentin. In low Ca rat, the appearance of line analysis of calcium and strontium was similar to that of control rat, but the difference between the level of line of calcium deposition in enamel and that in dentin was greater than that of control rat. Strontium element was not almost detected as that of control rat. In Sr rat, calcium deposition decreased in the area where strontium deposition increased. The relationship of extent of decrease or increase of calcium and strontium deposition showed the inverse one in enamel and dentin. In Sr-Ca rat, the appearance of line analysis of calcium and strontium was almost the same one as that of Sr rat, but the extent of decrease or increase of calcium and strontium in enamel or dentin was lower than that in Sr rat.
