We report a case of a patient with dementia who accidentally ingested a press through package (PTP). A 79-year-old woman, who was treated for tongue cancer, visited her doctor at Hiroshima University Hospital for regular follow-up visits. She felt a discomfort in her throat since she took medicine 2 days before a scheduled visit. She saw a doctor for regular examination; computed tomography revealed a PTP around the entrance to the esophagus. She was admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. Endoscopy was performed; the PTP was identified at cricopharyngeal constriction and was removed. Perforations of esophageal mucosa was diagnosed, and she was hospitalized for 12 days.
