We statistically analyzed 111 new cases of pustulosis palmaris et plantaris seen during the period from 2010 to 2012 at our department. The group included 38 males and 73 females. The average age of onset was 44 years. The smoking rate was 62%, the incidence of nail dystrophy was 31%, the arthropathy rate was 45%, and the metal allergy rate was 14%. The Chi square test and Fisher's exact test were used for statistical analysis. Arthropathy was significantly associated with nail dystrophy, metal allergy, and onset under 50 years of age. Therapeutic efficacy decreased in groups with smoking, nail dystrophy, metal allergy, and onset at 40 years of age or older.
