The present state of mechanization of library procedures and IR service at the Kyoto Sangyo University Library are described here. As the undergraduate and graduate courses of the University were enlarged and/or newly established, demands for use of the library materials have increased rapidly. To meet these deniands, the library started mechanization of library works from catalog making. Then utilization of mechanized systems was extended to order of books, acquisitions, processing of periodicals; and circulation control and information retrieval service were partly mechanized. As these library works are closely related to each other, a total system for their mechanization is now being studied.
