The relation of the number of scientific and technical literature and the number of scientist and research & development expenditure is shown in linked vector graphs. The number of journal published in Japan is highly correlated to the number of scientists which is lagged one year to account for delays. It's also related to the ammount of research & development expenditure. The number of patent application in Japan is correlated to the number of scientists. The number of books published in Japan is not significantly related to the number of scientists and expenditure. The relation of the number of scientific and technical books published and the number of scientists and expenditure in the world is also shown in linked vector graph. The number of book is also related to expenditure and scientists.

The activities of the Southeast Asian Medical Information Center on documentation and publication were described. The Southeast Asian Medical Information Center (SEAMIC) was established in 1972 to promote the health in the Southeast Asian countries through the exchange of medical information, and the documentation and publication activities are one of the most important ones. Its ultimate goal is to establish a network of cooperation among the medical information centers such as libraries in the region. To attain this goal, the present activities are the compilation of blbliographic control of Southeast of Southeast Asian medical literatures, production of computer readable database of various medical information in the region, photocopy services, retrieval of medical literature, and so on. The activities are unique in its multiplicity among various international cooperations and will increase its importance in the future.
