There is a widespread agreement that Korea Economic Accreditation Test (KEAT) is necessary in order to escalate economic education in Korea. We surveyed 320 staffs, duty managers, and directors of various industries. The survey results indicate that the KEAT should be used for the evaluation of economic literacy and economic education. For the desirable and practical use of the KEAT, it is necessary to make systematic and appropriate questions. It is also necessary to expand banks for the test and to make flexible methods for specific evaluation. Meanwhile, since the KEAT is a tool to measure and evaluate economic literacy, it should measure and evaluate main contents, functions, values, and attitudes of economic literacy. That is, the KEAT should test specific knowledge of understanding changes in global and domestic economic circumstances. It should also test the ability of rational decision-making on actual economic activities for its proper functions, and should test whether or not workers have an attitude for creativity, innovation, and openness. Finally, it should test the values that are related with developing the ability of workers as a member of an economic community, rather than the ability to manage personal economic activities.
