1. A series of investigations was made to identify common intestinal parasites of primates by fecal examination for eggs. Eggs of seven species of the helminths are described,
i. e., Oesophagostomum aculeatum, Ternidens deminutus, Strongyloides fülleborni, Streptopharagus armatus, Chlamydonema tumefaciens, Trichuris trichiuraand
Bertiellasp.
2. The fecal examination was made by simultaneous applications of the direct smear, floatation with saturated saline, and of the test-tube cultivation for larvae. As for the detection of eggs with the former two methods, better results were obtained with the floatation method for
Strongyloides, Oesophagostomumand
Ternidens, and with the direct smear for
Streptophargus, Chlamydonemaand
Trichuris.3. The positive rates of parasites' eggs in our surveys of 14
Macaca fuscata, 19
Macaca irusand 52 other species were presented.
