The colour-gene-constitution of the albino mouse is usually determined by progeny tests using some tester strains. By the progeny test, however, it is sometimes difficult to classify the mice or progeny, when dilute gene (d) is combined in basic colour genes (A-a and B-b) .
Thereafter, in the present study, detailed observations of all genotypes of 3 pairs of genes (
i. e. A-a, B-b and D-d) are carried out with the object of helping the progeny test and their phenotypes of baby and adult mice are described as shown in Tables 1 and 2.
Moreover, as there may exist some confusions in classifing them, especially between dilute brown and dilute cinnamon, dilute black and dilute agouti, and dilute brown and dilute agouti, points for classification are listed in Tables 4 and 5.
