Ferberite-wolframite-hubnerite series are studied using the X-ray diffractometer, the spectrochemical apparatus and the chemical analytic method. Specimens are collected from Takatori-mine, Ebisumine and Togane-mine in Japan, and from Korea. Data from these samples are compared with that of Bloch and A. S. T. M. cards, which are similarly calculated for lattice constants. The results are shown in Table 2 and Fig. 1. It should be suggested that the expansion of cell dimensions near hubnerite is caused by the substitution of the larger Mn
+2 ions instead of the smaller Fe
+2 ions. As shown in Fig. 1, it is ensured the expansion in these series are not only characterized in the value of a
0, but also shown in that of b
0 and c
0, which are not so largely as the former.
Additionaly, the goniometrical data on wolframite from Ebisu-mine are shown in Table 3 and Fig. 2, in which several new faces of the mineral in Japan are also reported.
