The comparative evalauation of gastrocamera technique & X-ray examination for the study of gastric diseases on clinical basis is discussed in this paper. On 221 cases with isolated lesions (gastric ulcer 151, carcinoma 65, polyp 5) out of one thousand patients, who have undertaken complete examinations both through gastrocamera and X-ray technique, characteristic differences in the findings are analized comparatively. From this study it is comfirmed that inherent peculiarities of gastrocamera technique to X-ray methods as a diagnostic procedure are as follows, 1) a faculty to visualize the color & tint of the object, 2) difficulty in fixing arbitrary distance between a film and objects, 3) to picture the stomach from within, 4) the cardinal axis for observation is on a frontal plane. Essential characteristics on the four points mentioned above should be always kept in mind on utilization of gastrocamera, when both examination methods of X-ray & gastrocamera technique can well attain their supplemental roles together in diagnostic procedure.
