The graft polymerization of various methacrylic esters or acrylic esters onto styrene-butadiene block copolymer were carried out with benzoyl peroxide in toluene, and the emulsification of graft products obtained were investigated to yield emulsion adhesives. In the emulsification optimum solvent and emulsifying agent were found to be toluene and potassium salt of disproportionated rosin, respectively. Emulsions which the amount of solvent was contained half to equal for total solids in emulsions, were excellent stability, forming ability and peel strength. These emulsions were confirmed to give high peel strength for the bond of plastcized poly (vinyl chloride), particularly an emulsion of graft product obtained from methyl methacrylate.
