The polyurethane foam (PUF) giving functions, antibacterial and deodorant reactions, was prepared by a reaction of polyols containing additives with 2, 4-tolylene diisocyanate (TDI). The green tea powder, catechin 30 and catechin 90 were used as additives. Antibacterial tests of PUF were carried out by using three principal methods, bacterial multiplication control, colony count, and the shake flask. The three antibacterial reagents were compared to staphylococus and escheri-chiacoli. The green tea powder and catechin 30 gave a high antibacterial effect. However the catechin 90 gave a low antibacterial effect. Also, the green tea powder and catechin 30 may be useful as a natural deodorant reagent for a various odors due to its reasonable deodorant activity.
