This research aims at making clear the present status of exercise contents concerning ‘Fitness’, in order to investigate on educational tools for ‘Fitness’, based on consciousness survey targeting collage students majoring in physical education (189 males and 97 females). In the questionnaire, the following items were required to answer in description: consciousness and the degree of experiences of ‘Fitness’ in high school, scope and contents of exercises which were practiced in the course of physical education in high school as ‘the exercise for enhancing physical fitness’ to strengthen ‘muscular strength’, ‘speed’, ‘endurance’, ‘flexibility’ and ‘coordination’.
The following results were obtained.
1. The degree of experiences in ‘Fitness’ was high, but consciousness was low.
2. Concerning the exercises to enhance ‘muscular strength’ and ‘endurance’, though the degree of experiences was high, the contents of the exercises were simplex.
3. Concerning the exercises to enhance ‘coordination’ and ‘exercise for releasing the body and mind’, the contents of the exercises were wide-ranging, and the results showed a further investigation would be necessary in the future.
4. In each item, the degree of experiences was higher for female students (p<0.05).
