In presented project they have been going to design an 8x8 LED matrix display, for that they have been going to interface an 8x8 LED matrix module with AVR microcomputer. An 8x8 LED matrix contains 64 LEDs which are arranged in the form of a matrix MODULE with chip MAX7219. Regarding circuit diagram and explanation, the connections which are done between AVR microcomputer and LED matrix module are, LOAD, CLOCK, DATAIN, +5V and 0V of LED module, respectivly. The aim of presented study is product only in tiny memory and affordable rate microcomputer, to build automatic cord generation system assisted for display Japanese kanji character. It has been a subject of research, both for their self-study affordable learning material and for their technological applications in electronics through to computer engineering. Especially in academic region, compatible Arduino board is easy and popular to programming something theme with assisted study tool for microcomputer embedded system understanding. On the other hand, it is difficult to do the modification truly original cost free display Japanese kanji character system without on a major scale PC communicated and controlled continuously. All over kind of Japanese character display system is best way to propaganda tool for new comer invitation and attraction for any kind of instant gadget, additionaly using bluetooth, using wireless RS232C serial UART as the controller boards around the following features, always keeping as a system that can be remotely controlled. At a speed of 9600 bps bit time and connect external PC or smart phone, and wireless remote operation is feasible, Serial Port Profile SPP to standard support using non-synchronous serial UART bluetooth classic standards, meanwhile BLE communication is not adopted.

We aimed to develop a carrying-assist robot for care-required people. The robot was designed to carry a pill case or small box like tissue box size by user friendly interface. Although the robot was designed to carry the object to a user automatically after detecting a target object by the image processing, the recognition rate was very low because the target object which was a box shape was extremely difficult to be distinguished from other objects. Therefore, we developed the control interface using the voice recognition system which can recognize 10 voice commands with the recognition rate of 86.5%. The developed robot successfully carried the pill case from the desk by the users' voice commands. Feedback from actual users' opinion about operationality and functions is required in the next step.

Acoustic Emission Measuring Method in which acoustic emission (AE) signals obtained from chemical reaction and phase transition are measured and analyzed is expected to be a new analytical method if used with the thermal analysis. The phase transitions of NH4Cl, NH4Br, NH4NO3, KNO3, and TlNO3, and the decomposition reaction of MgCl2・6H2O were observed by the method. The samples were dried at 50 or 100 ℃ and their particle sizes were sieved to be 74~177 µm before the measurement. As a result, it was found that there was the influence of the particle size in the AE measurement and that the intensity of AE signals was relative to amounts of sample at less than 450 mg because of echo at more than that weight. It was clarified that the AE measuring method could be estimated the phase transition which could not be detected by the thermal analysis.

In this paper, we reported the results of the chemical composition analysis of the glass beads from the Kono collection of Asahikawa City Museum. Folklore materials we studied were one of the cultural properties that characterize Sakhalin and Hokkaido during the Ainu culture period. We brought portable X-ray fluorescent spectrometer to the collection facility. As a result, the glass could be classified into 4 chemical types : lead silicate glass, soda lime silicate glass, potash lime silicate glass and mixed alkali glass. We have obtained new knowledge on the chemical composition of folklore materials transmitted to Sakhalin province.

Tsushima was an important point in ancient trade between Japan and the Eurasian Continent. Many Korean artifacts have been excavated from Tsushima by archaeological investigations. The purpose of our study is to reveal the chemical compositions of ancient glass excavated from Tsushima and the ancient glass trade between Japan and the Eurasian Continent. In this study, 127 ancient glass beads from Kofunosae site (Kofun period) and Kagarimatsubana site (Yayoi period) were nondestructively analyzed by using portable XRF (X-ray fluorescence) spectrometer. The chemical compositions of glass beads from two sites can be classified into three types: potash silica glass (K2O-SiO2), soda lime silica glass (Na2O-CaO-SiO2), high alumina soda lime silica glass (Na2O-Al2O3-CaO-SiO2). The glass beads excavated from Kofunosae site were classified into these three glass types. The results show that the number of alumina soda lime silica glasses is largest in the glass samples excavated from the sites. On the other hand, the glass beads excavated from Kagarimatsubana site are all potash silica glass. Moreover, we revealed that 13 colorless glass beads from Kagarimatsubana site don’t conclude any colorants. Such glass beads are rarely found in Japan. We were able to reveal the chemical characteristics of ancient glasses excavated from Tsushima and a part of glass trade between Japan and the Eurasian Continent based on on-site non-destructive XRF analyses.

The eastern part of Hokkaido is the region where the Okhotsk culture lasted for a long time, and then it became the Tobinitai cultural period along with the creation of Tobinitai type potteries and finally shifted to the Satsumon culture. The potteries of various type were made in these period, and propagated to in each region. In this study, the potteries which were made in the final stages of the Okhotsk culture period and the potteries which were made in the Tobinitai culture period were investigated using EPMA(Elctron Probe Micro Analyzer) about the mixing ratio of the sand elements contained in the clay of pottery. The measured value by the image processing analysis is converted standardization data,it was shown in the ternary composition diagram. Based on the results of that, relationship between the changes in pottery type and the changes in the production area was investigated.

A large number of the ironware was excavated in Hokkaido. These are very important in considering the ironware excavated in Honshu. The ironware of Honshu was rare to excavate, because ironware were recycled in Honshu. Among the ironware in Hokkaido, there is unique sword called Ezo-gatana or Ainu’s sword which is not discovered in Honshu. This sword is seems to be the sword for ceremonial use. We search the difference of the manufacturing process with the Japanese sword excavated from the same site from the X - ray transmission image.

This paper is to make an observation obtained from the results of a survey asking students to answer the truth of some statements concerning equality of mathematical expressions. Those results lead us to know how we understand mathematical expressions using a mapping from them to a set of numbers. That mapping also makes us to be aware of the importance of the preservation of equality, which probably we use unconsciously in mathematics.

The element composition of a bell (Dotaku) and a metallic piece that were excavated from Peshi- misaki site in Rishiri-island was analyzed with X-ray fluorescence analyzer. The dotaku was a bronze alloy containing a relatively high concentration of Pb. Since fluidity of molten metal increases with increasing Pb content in bronze, Pb rich composition must have been beneficial in casting of a dotaku having complex shape. From the comparison of the shapes with the dotakus excavated from neighboring areas, it is considered that the dotaku from Peshi-misaki site was cast between 8th and 10th century. A concurrently excavated metal piece was a solder alloy contained from Pb and Sn. The solder alloy could have been used for repair of bronzewares casted in the site at that time.

In exploring the feasibility of small-scale tide and ocean current power generation in the Tsugaru Strait, the two-dimensional circulation flow experiments using three types of diffuser models are performed as the initial step of examining the optimum shape of the diffuser suitable. The result of experiments shows that, in case of the gradual extended diffuser with flanges, the acceleration effect of internal passing velocity becomes further intensity due to the formation of vorticity behind flanges.

"Shoto Shiso" is the collection of Chinese-style poems by KAKIZAKI Tomoshige (pen name of Shoto, hereafter Shoto), who married Sono, the granddaughter of KAKIZAKI Hakyo (1764-1826) , famous artist and retainer to Matsumae clan, and set up a new Kakizaki family. 303 Shoto’s poems have been recorded from the 6th year of Tenpo (1835) to the 2nd year of Keio (1866). Until now, not all of the works have been read through and put into print. In this paper, we will attempt to transcribe, explain the vocabulary and translate the "Shoto Shiso" into modern language , yet unknown throughout the world.
