In this paper, we propose an algorithm for inspecting the shielding plate for ball bearing parts. This algorithm is described in the following steps:
(1) the first step is searching for the center of a shielding plate in an image,
(2) the second step is transforming cartesian coordinates into polar coordinates in image, and
(3) well-made or defected parts are inspected from the value of gray level about all of the sample-points(
m, n) ∈
Z={0, ±1, ±2, ...} onto the region of its image.
By these steps, we are able to check the object in several items. This method can be useful for other objects whose shapes are ring.
