There are some cases where magnetic fields due to distributed currents in two-layer media are required. It would be very difficult to calculate the required fields by the application of the Biot-Savart law to the distributed currents, because the distribution of the distributed currents is very complicated. In this paper, a method of images for representing the required fields is proposed. The images are assumed to be some isolated linear currents of half-infinite length and perpendicular to the boundary plane between the two-layer media. The magnitudes of the images are determined from the continuity for current and the boundary conditions. Thus the required magnetic fields can be easily calculated by the application of the Biot-Savart law to the images.
