This paper deals with a basic study of acoustic noise initiation from induction cooking heater (IH) under operation. It is often said that ill feeling noise is heard from IH during cooking. The occurrence of such noise is supposed to be mechanical vibration electromagnetically interfered caused by high-harmonic components in the power frequency. However,the initiation mechanism is not clear yet. In this paper the quantitative relation between acoustic noise strength and voltage of high-harmonic frequency components are discussed from experimental approach and indicated one criterion for acoustic noise clearance.
