The library of the Musashimurayama Hospital was
started in 2005 with the establishment of the hospital. The daily
work of the library has been performed by a medical office
secretary. Due to the lack of space, the library committee
decided to dispose of a certain amount of the holdings in
January 2013. First, the rules of disposal were drawn up, and
then, according to the rules, 1,564 journal volumes out of 8,092
books and journal volumes were chosen for disposal. Of the
1,564 volumes, 115 were distributed to staff of the hospital and
1,449 were purchased by a recycling dealer. In July 2013, the
disposal process, which was carried out by a single secretary,
was completed and the occupancy of the stacks decreased
from 80% to 66%.
