The pollution control system (PCS) for the elimination of anesthetic gases has come into use in the most of operation center. But only this system is not good enough to be safe for the anesthetic pollution of operating room. Many papers reported that the female members in operationg room were subject to increased risks of spontaneous abortion, congenital abnormalities in their children, cancer, and hepatic and renal diseaes by the chronic exposure with low value anesthetic gases for a long time. We planned and developed the anesthetic pollution monitoring system (APMS). AMPS consists of a sampling control section with sequential circuits and some control values, a detecting section with infrared light spectrum analyzers (Miran 103), and two monitoring sections of the anesthetic pollution monitoring panel in every operating room and the computers for information processing of sampling data. These environmental conditions of the anesthesia pollution density can be fedback to the anesthtic pollution monitoring panel in the operationg room and to the computor display in monitoring rooms with the local area network. This system can be used to check the adequate maintenance of anesthetic apparatus, the correct application of anesthesia tecniques, and for training to minimize anesthtic pollution.
