An express messenger robot contest was held to foster creativity in third-year student of mechanical engineering. The rules for the contest were given to the students at the beginning of the exercise. After No.1 robot handed No.2 robot a small package, No.2 robot brought it to the mail box. The object was for the robots on each group to bring the small package as soon as possible by running over a small hill or getting over obstacles. We also took care of the safety control of working for students. As a result of practice, the students proposed the creative mechanism of robot and manufactured two robots. The students realized the wonderfulness of manufacturing.

The terrestrial digital television broadcastings use the same frequency band between 470MHz and 770MHz as the UHF conventional analog television broadcastings. So, we observed the wave intensities in this frequency band at the Ishikawa National College of Technology for both the previous and the latter period of starting the terrestrial digital television broadcastings in the Ishikawa prefecture. As a result, the receiving antennas sometimes measured the broadcasting waves over the Japan Sea. In this paper, the observation system and observation examples are mainly described.

An ultrasonic loudspeaker is a system that uses human audible range and can create sound fields specific courses. The purpose of this study is to improve distortion of the ultrasonic loudspeaker with various characteristics and to improve attenuation when it is used in a long range. This experiment measured frequency characteristic and distortion rates. The results show that the frequency characteristic of the ultrasonic loudspeaker is not flat and an SSB method have lower distortion rate than an AM method. We must improve the frequency characteristic and examine modulation methods with lower distortion rates in the future.

For the practical education of the embedded system, a FPGA, which CPU, ROM, RAM and peripheral I/O devices were incorporated in, was prepared. An IP-core of the traditional CPU was applied to design the hardware of the system. The LCD as an output device for debugging of the program and the SD-card reader were prepared. In addition, the interrupt terminal to the system was prepared. Software development environments were improved and the compiler which worked on CPU of the embedded system was applied. The embedded system, which combined the hardware with the software in a FPGA, is most suitable as the materials for practical learning.

This study's objective is to construct a website with groupware facilities for elementary school by use of NetCommons. To introduce a flexible website to the elementary school, authors formulated basic specifications and a prototype system is constructed in an actual rental server. In preparation for administration of the website, this paper compares three procedures for backup processes to save all of the files, which consisted of HTML files, and all related database tables. In the file backup verification, it is confirmed that the use of phpMyAdmin is one of the most practical methods for backing up MySQL databases. A full-scale operation of the proposed system is planned for the future.

The snow that falls and accumulates in the Japanese Islands every winter is a valuable water resource for our country while snowmelt runoff has the capacity to cause floods. Therefore, It is very important to forecast how various elements of the snow will change. So, the snow rise and fall model is proposed as a model where various elements of the snow are estimated and reproduced from meteorological data. In this paper, we estimated the value of two constants η_0, k that composed the compressive viscosity coefficient, that influenced the snow depth, by the method of least squares based on the observational data of 11 points from Hokkaido to Hokuriku.

In our past papers, the state of moisture in an artificial light-weight aggregate used is reported to affect the compressive strength of concrete. This experimental fact may be derived from the different absorption of an artificial light-weight aggregate in fresh concrete and water standardized by an aggregate absorption test. In this report, the absorption of the artificial light-weight aggregate in fresh cement paste is measured and its relation to our proposed "effective water content" that may be able to explain the influence of the state of moisture in an artificial light-weight aggregate on concrete strength is discussed experimentally.

The Rigid Bodies-Spring Model(RBSM), as proposed by Prof. KAWAI, is suitable for non-linear problems of RC structure. The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of the analytical method by RBSM with discrete modeling of reinforcing material to Delaunay Triangulation. As a result, it was confirmed that RBSM with discrete modeling of reinforcing material was applicable to non-linear analysis of RC beams using Delaunay Triangulation.

The number of young families who live in a rental apartment has been increasing in Ishikawa every year. That is because prefabricated rental apartments have appeared. It has already been clear that in a prefabricated rental apartment, the tenants are mostly young nuclear families. Another fact which has become clear at this time is that prefabricated rental apartments are being built in only the rezoning areas in Kanazawa. It may be that the average age of the rezoning areas is lower than that of the other areas in Kanazawa under the same circumstances. This is a problem that expands the gap of ages among the areas.

The definition and classification of cross-sectional strength concerning width-thickness ratio of plate element are required in the development of advanced limit state design code of steel structures. For regarding the limiting width-thickness ratios for plastic strength of steel I-section in Bending, Various cross-sectional strengths are calcurated by the analysis of F.E.M. under the same conditions(b/h=const, A_w/A_f=variable). In this report, those numerical results are shown in detail and current design codes are discussed.
