Street gutters play an important role by performing functions of supplying water to the rice paddies and forming a part of their drainage systems, preventing water stagnation, and conserving the living environment. However, owing to depopulation in the farmlands and aging of the local residents, the task of cleaning the gutters has become laborious. Therefore, we have developed machines in order to provide support during the gutter cleaning process. First, the lid of the gutter is lifted and removed. Next, the robot can be used in the gutter for removing the soil, dead leaves, and dust, and thus clean the gutter. In the locations where cleaning is difficult, this robot can surpass the human capability by reaching remote or unmanageable places.

This paper reports a case of a newly introduced curriculum “Creative Mechanical Practice” for the 3rd grade students of the department of mechanical engineering. At, first Students are divided into 14 groups, each groups consists of 3 students. Their task is to create apparatus for ball-toss game, using equally supplied materials and machine parts. For 6 months, students design machine mechanisms, process mechanical parts in the machine factory, and test their machines. At the end of the term, a round robin tournament game was held. Almost all students are satisfied with this program, and they developed their skills to solve unknown problems, not only machine processing skills.

Generally, the simulation using the PC and the realization in the device using the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) are cited in the method used for an experiment of signal processing it. The device using the DSP is slightly expensive. In addition, the acquisition of the programming language is slightly complicated. On the other hand, it is hard to use the simulation using the PC in the environment testing in real time. Therefore I thought that I could use a microcomputer for signal processing it. Because the microcomputer can perform an experiment in the real time, it is most suitable for signal processing it. In addition, it is easy to make the program of the microcomputer.

When searching for a desired part of a scene in the audio information provided by a video using keyword, if the specified keyword is not spoken in the target video, it is difficult to find the necessary scenes. To this problem by knowledge processing, the previous researches propose expansion of the keyword. In recent years, internet has become very popular, Wikipedia has emerged as a free encyclopedia, where anyone can edit on the Internet. The information is classified according to its category and relevance with other articles. Internet is considered to be useful from a number of data and internal structure as one of the knowledge information. In this study, we aimed to investigate the performance in the case of keyword expansion using Wikipedia.

Laboratory experiments of Physical structure of the pn junction diode in the fields of electronics & information engineering are carried out. The experiment is to measure the current-voltage characteristics by an ambient temperature change. We can obtain some physical quantity from the gradient of the graph. Owing to time limitations, we only measured the Si junction diode. The data of the digital multimeter (sanwa PC710) are fed into a notebook PC connected by a market-available optical link cable. By reducing the measurement time, we were able to measure the characteristics of the other Schottky diodes. Furthermore, measurement accuracy was improved by using this optical link cable. It is important to record data of the digital multimeter in a notebook while taking into account the range of the errors in reading the values. Measurement carried out by a PC using the data uptake software is very effective for the experiments for quick calculations. We used a PC for carrying out measurements in a laboratory experiment for the fiscal year 2014. There was little unevenness of data had less results of the group with a PC measurement.

To study ultimate behavior of a high strength bolted joint whose ultimate load is determined by a shear break of bolts, we carried out a tensile experimental test of the joints. The specimens of the test are high strength bolted joints with one or two bolts and main plates whose thickness is 28 mm. The misalignment of the hole is less than 1 mm. We obtained the result that the shear strength of the bolt for two bolts joint case is almost the same as that for one bolt. Our result indicates that the loads carried by each bolt are almost same and they are neither influenced by misalignment nor the difference of rigidity by yielding. Therefore we can design the joint with the thickness of main plate 28 mm to use the shear strength of the bolt effectively.

This study was beginning to survey for listing of the cultural property the Residence of the Okuno Family. When we investigated the building of the Residence, we found the documents that were the evidence to the hearing survey. It has been proven to relocated from Doyama-district, Nanto-City and to buy the Residence from the Sugiura Family. In this study I considered the historical reasons of the place of Doyama-Gobo and the Sugiura-Manbei house. I was clearly the current and past state about the place of Doyama-Gobo, furthermore Sugiura-Manbei and Rennyo of relationship.

The purpose of this study is to construct a theoretical platform for the co-education. About the practice of the co-eduction which are based on the joint study by regional cooperation is not clear. Also especially, about the constructional method of the platform which is connected with the co-education and the joint study has not been clear. In this paper, I was reconfigured the joint study in the Noto-cho Kurokawa district from the point of view of improving the platform for the co-education. Physical platform as the subject for the joint study in the region has been rebuilt as a theoretical platform of the co-education.

This paper reports on teaching content and activities for second-year students aimed at enhancing their reading comprehension skills. Recently, the importance of cultivating communicative English abilities has been increasingly emphasized, but among four skills- reading, writing, speaking, and listening-reading skills should be acquired as basics for English learning. In order for the students to gain basic reading skills, the focus was put on three approaches: vocabulary building, rapid reading, and close reading. The success of these approaches was evaluated by examining TOEIC Bridge IP scores and the results of student questionnaires. The average scores of TOEIC Bridge IP improved, compared to those of the previous year. The results of the questionnaires indicate that their attitudes towards the approaches are positive, and that they see them as helpful in enhancing their reading comprehension skills.
