Overlay power supplies at international sporting events are critical power sources where momentary voltage drops and power outages are unacceptable. Therefore, to ensure reliability, safety, and scalability, generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and other technologies are utilized. We believe these technologies can be applied to improve power resilience against natural disasters, which have become increasingly frequent in recent years.

In large-scale sporting events, accredited personnel transportation involves concentrated arrivals and departures within limited time periods, requiring plans that ensure both safety and smooth operations. This study applies a microscopic simulation integrating pedestrians and vehicles to real cases, capturing congestion, crowding, and localized conflicts quantitatively and visually. The results indicate the method’s usefulness for planning and for supporting consensus-building among stakeholders.

In soccer stadiums the quality of play is determined by the availability of high-quality grass. Stadiums for the FIFA World Cup are required to cover the stands with roofs and to have natural grass fields that remain green year-round. However, the shade cast by the roofs has a significant impact on grass growth, making it a challenge to maintain a constant green state throughout the year. This paper reported on the overview and effectiveness of the soil temperature control system that has been installed on the grass fields of several large, covered stadiums. In recent years, the effectiveness of this system has been confirmed, not only for heating but also for cooling.
