The main object of this investigation is to detect small numbers of fetal erythrocytes present in the maternal circulation, that is, to prove the transfer of intact blood cells from fetus to mother. Kleihauer et al. recently reported that the Hb of adult red cells (HbA) in a fixed smear was readily eluted by an acid phosphate buffer wheras the Hb of fetal cells (HbF) was not.
The procedure is as follows:
1cc of venous blood was collected with heparin as anticoagulant, and diluted 1 in 3 with physiological saline. Smears were made of the saline suspension, dried, and fixed in absolutely ethyl alcohol. After fixation and drying, the slides were washed exactly for 90 seconds in citrate phosphate buffer (0.16 M K₂HPO₄ + 0.18M citric acid, pH 3.4 at 37°C).
They were stained with May-Grunwald for 3 minutes and then washed. After drying, they were examined microscopically under low power.
The results are as follows:
1) Fetal cells appears as pink-staining cells were differentiated in a field of mother's ghost cells.
2) In-vitro mixtures of fetal and adult blood were made and smears prepared as described above.
Fetal blood contained as little as 0.005% in the mother's blood may be detected by this method.
3) The blood of 50 mothers was examined as soon as delivery, 18 out of 50 (36%) postpartum women had fetal cells in their circulation suggests that transplacental passage of fetal blood is rather common.

The authors summed up the questions and answers of internal medical men from many medical colleges and general hospitals about the opinion of cholesterol-lowering treatment.
1) The over 85% doctors answered the usage of the drugs for the hypercholesteroll patients in the arteriosclerosis, and about a half answered to use the drugs for the hypercholesterol patients who could not control by diet therapy. And many doctors said that it is also effective to use the cholesterol-lowering drugs for the hypercholesterol patients who take few fatty food.
2) The treatment of cholesterol-lowering drugs has poor effect for improving the histological changes of arteriosclerosis.
3) A little improvement of E. C. G. changes in arteriosclerotic patients were observed by this treatment. It cannot determine either these effect caused by cholesterol-lowering drugs or another.
4) The treatment of the cholesterol-lowering agents must be done for preventing and control of arteriosclerosis and also for the improvement of clinical signs.
5) In this therapy there are not many kind of side effects.
6) Some physicians think that these drugs are effective and useful for the prevention of arteriosclerosis, that is complication in hypercholesterol patients of diabetic patients and so on.

Since December 1961, the author investigated on Gnathostomas which lives in Ophicephalus argus, a fresh-water fish, from a standpoint of the epidemology.
The results obtained were as follows:
1) As distribution areas newly discovered basins of Nakiri-and Ikusue-river the middle and lower reaches of Kikuti-river, Tozin-river area, the lower reaches of Sirakawa and Tuboi-river, Ezu-lake, areas of Kase-, Kiyama- and Akai-river, and the lower and middle reaches of Midorikawa may be added.
2) The most numbers of Gnathostoma spinigerum Owen, 1836 detected in one-fish were 37.
3) The muscle was the part the parasite lived in all cases.

Among 2, 309 patients of tuberculosis who had been admitted in 7 sanatoria, 158 patients whose hemoglobin were under 75% (n/Sahli) were treated with Fe-Glucronate.
The average value of hemoglobin before taking Fe-Glucronate was 66% and increased to 78% in 15 days.
The hemoglobin of 72.5% of the anemic patients increased more than 5%, 44.9% of them increased more than 10% in 15 days, and 73.7% of them increased more than 5%, 54.5% of them increased more than 10% in 30 days.
The increase of reticulocytes was not remarkable, but increased from 3.5% to 5.5% in 15 days.
The colour index was raised from 0.85 to 0.95 in 15 days.
Red cells did not increased remarkably.
The important ill effects of this drug were an unpleasant feeling of stomach, anorexia, stomachache, nausea etc., and 5 patients (3.2%) were discontinued to administer the drug by ill effects.

In this paper, experiences with the neurotripsy of the obturator nerves and the “Hangehufte” (“suspended hip”) described by Voss are discussed. Voss considered muscular tensions to be of great importance and proposed an operation in which the greater trochanter is sectioned to release the tension of the gluteal muscle and the adductor muscles are tenotomized. Pauwels, working along similar lines, released the iliopsoas. They reported fairly large number of cases with excellent restoration of hip joint after these procedures. The results of 7 cases followed up from 3 monthes to 2 years are analysed. In general, there was excellent relief of pain in the cases studied, except only one. The movement of the hip joint was not so improved after operation, but almost all cases showed fairly remarkable widening of the articular space. Voss' operation is indicated in all cases of osteoarthritis of hip joint, except in untreated congenital dislocation with extreme displacement of the acetabulum. In some cases with secondary osteoarthritis of the hip, preoperative roentgenogram showing flattening of the femoral head with in congruity of the articular surface, it has not been discussed adequately whether the operation would be successfully done, but nowadays, it is concluded that Voss' operation is a very useful one for osteoarthritis of the hip joint in which the process is so severe that arthrodesis or arthroplasty is required. We have not so enough experiences of this operation, therefore we would like to follow up, and report in future.

There are many questions in mind, mental power spirit and soul.
It is the psychiatrist's duty to study the way how the mind works and how to help it to become mentally healthy and it is the duty of the minister of religion how to help men to be spiritually healthy.
The region was originally intended for healing service. There are obvious stories in the Bible that the diseased men and women were cured by Jesus Christ. Psychiatry today is not confined to mental hospital.
It was reached out as far as every aspect of human behavior. If one turns toward the present day interrelationships between psychiatry and religion, one wonders why the Church has been hesitant to accept and utilize many of the insights of modern psychiatry.
In life, the peaks decide the meaningfulness of the life. This is one of the bases of religious philosophy of psychotherapy.
We can help the patient to see the value that has not yet been used, and the value which partially destroyed can be preserved.
In experiences with religious groups and healing services there is contact with forces which have helped people to achieve their personality in the direction of health. Psychiatrist should have a sympathetic understanding of the religious way of thinking and feeling and be ready to use these resources.
Ninety per cent of the Japanese seems to be belonged to Buddhists. Buddhists seems to be decreasing in number in Japan.
There are many young priests with earnest and passion in a field of the Buddhism.
But there seems to be difficult questions to reform in consequence of the tradition and the convention.
On the contrary, many clergymen of Christian religion come to Japan from foreign countries and are preaching Christian love and devotion, without economic standpoints but with refined theories.
The psychiatric treatment agrees in principle wirh scientific standpoints.
Accordingly philosophic and religious standpoints should be secondary, complementary and additional.
It is the very duty for the preachment of a priest to be obeyed with Doctor's idea and experience under a management of Doctors in the mental hospital.
If we have bitter complaints against the preachment, we are entitled to reject it.
