A medical interview sheet has an important role in obtaining information about a patient in every situation for medical treatments. The sheet is usually written in Japanese. Some people have difficulties in filling the form due to both the complicated style of Japanese sentences and their language ability. In this report we study the structure of the interview sheet that is supposed to be used at a dental clinic situation. We also investigate the use of a signed language explanation as a supplemental information channel for deaf people who use a signed language in everyday life. Furthermore, results for preliminary evaluation testing of the interview sheet are shown.

This paper describes a music kansei information communication method with vibration moters on an arm for handicapped persons. We make clear the distance between moters and vibration frequencies for a kansei information transmission. We transmit the music information by many vibration moters. A minimum vibration sensitivity on the arm is a few cm, and a frequency vibration sensitivity is less than 15 Hz. Next the music is devided into 8 frequencie regions and we give the vibration for each frequency region. Thus, we suppose that the good feelings are given by the vibration on arm.

To achieve a comfortable speech interaction with computer, it is expected that the computer speaks with human emotion and the computer can recognize our feeling from our speech. In this paper, we try to ascertain the physical features included in our conversations. These speech signals are compared with speech signals that have no emotions by perceptual experiments and analyzing their physical features. Moreover, discriminantion of new speech samples have performed by discriminant analysis. Four discriminant factors used in this analysis have generated from quantitative features of performer's speech signals. These quantitative features were defined by basing on the time variation of peak frequency of spectra. As for the emotional expression of speeches, the time variation of peak frequency of spectra and pitches were the important part.

In this paper, we propose a care system that is able to secure the privacy of disabled people and lighten the burdens of their carers. Sound and image signals processing techniques are adopted in the care system. Detection experiments of the abnormality of electronic equipment that a disabled people always uses in his life were carried out. Results showed that each technique in the care system was effective.

This paper proposes a computer manipulation tool for handicapped who cannot use a mouse. This tool displays control panels on the computer monitor, and indirectly issues mouse function call such as motion of mouse pointer or clicking mouse buttons to any application software without any reconstruction. This tool enables a person to operate general application software using head swing operation based on our previously proposed object-tracking method. In addition, control panels are full adjustable of its size according to person's physical ability. Experimental results show the effectiveness of this tool that can control mouse function comparably with ordinarily mouse.
