Integral Photography(IP)is a technique for creating 3D autostereoscopic images. We studied the pickup method for IP when the subjects were distributing widely toward depth direction. First, the characteristics of resolution by the product of their MTFs(overall MTF)is evaluated. Next, the relationship between the overall MTF at Nyquist frequency for IP and how the pickup system is focused on the subject is discussed. As a result, by focusing on a relatively far point, appropriate responses were gained for the reconstructed images whose original subjects are distributed widely towards depth direction.

Recently, wider dynamic range and higher resolution become more and more important for professional use of line sensor. A new four line CCD sensor has been developed. Three 10504 pixels three color lines have highly wide dynamic range up to 87dB in practical system application. The fourth line is a 16804 pixels monochromatic line for high resolution document scanning application.

1200DPI CCD contact type sensor module can be driven by pulse and electric source of 5V was developed. This module is used for a color image scanner, and consists of inline type CCD image sensors, a rod lens array, LED, and lightguide. Since eight CCD sensors are arranged in a straight line, contain the counter circuit in each sensor, switch an output one by one and can read it, from one output terminal, they can output a picture signal serially and can attain simplification of a system. With the formation of 1200DPI, a pixel pitch becomes short. Therefore, although disorder of the pixel pitch in a connector part causes picture degradation, it is eased by narrowing distance between tip connectors. Since realization of a 5MHz high-speed data rate and high S/N enables correspondence of high definition and high-speed reading, the spread of the color image scanners which used 1200DPI module is expected.

We developed low power consumption chip set for CCD digital camera. It operates 2.8V single power supply. We actualized low voltage CCD operation byoptimization of CCD process conditions. The power supply voltage for CCD output amplifier is +5V, and vertical shift clock voltage is -5V to +2.8V. The single power supply system was realized by the vertical driver chip built in charge pump DC-DC converter. Then, we established the way of preventing noise. The technology of the power management reduced power consumption more. This technology can be used without control such as a microcomputer. Though it was the CCD camera of the high sensitivity and low noise, the low power consumption of less than 100mW(VGA, 5fps)could be realized.

Black and white surveilance video cameras are required highly sensitivity and widely dynamic range. To require high sensitivity under low illuminance, near infrared image sensors are needed. In the future, surveilance video camera systems will evolve into digital systems and information technology network systems. We have developed 1/4-type(diagonal 4.5mm)frame transfer CCD for EIA/CCIR B/W TV systems which has high sensitivity under near infrared light, and digital camera system using these CCDs. Special features of this system are 1)high sensitivity under near infrared light 2)wide dynamic range by CCD drive pulse and signal processing. 3)auto defect correction circuit and various function in digital signal processing.

We have developed the practical rewritable recording media using leuco dyes generally used for the thermal recording materials. Espetially, reversible coloring/decoloring properties were obtained by using the developers having both and acid group and a long-chain alkyl group, and are concerned with forming the molecular aggrigation structure combined leuco dye molecules and the developer molecules, and separating by crystallization of the developer molecules. Furthermore, higher stability of the colored image and higher erasing velocity were obtained by controling the molecluler structures of the developers. These rewritable recording media will be usefull for reducing a large amount of paper used for temporary documents.

In order to improve the discharge characteristics of a plasma display panel(PDP), we constructed a cylindrical coordinate system simulation for a PDP based on the axial symmetric 3-dimensional fluid model. The accumulation of charge was examined as one of the cell-wall effects under the condition of DC-voltage application. The distribution of charge weakened the radial electric field at the steady state, thereby reducing loss of ions. It was shown that the peak of the particle-density distribution moves generally toward the cathode, when viewed in terms of charge accumulation on the cell wall.
