In this paper we proposes a new restoration theory, in which it is assumed that the degradation filter is unknown but a pair of an original image and its degraded image is given. Using this pair of images a restoration filter is estimated by obtaining coefficients of interconnections between constituent images in the multiresolution representation of the degraded image based on the wavelet transform.

This paper introduces a graphics layout design tool that has a capability to learn user preferences and to recognize designing consistencies. The introduced tool has ability to generate layout templates for selection according to user preferences learned from previous interactions. Additional objects suggestion to preserve consistencies can be made by the system. User preferences are in form of spatial relations and transitive relations. The system employs genetic programming to generate the layouts for selection and to be a learning mechanism. The system architecture, system learning, and experimental results are also included.

As the rapid growth of Internet, it can be the main revenue of cable operator. Generally, Hybrid Fiber Coax(HFC)can provide high speed interactive services with robust and reliable. Unfortunately, upstream channel of HFC has much more ingress noise to inference in this bandwidth that can reduce the interactive potential. In this paper, the Quaternary Phase Shift Keying(QPSK)and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(QAM), the modulation techniques defined by IEEE802.14 have been studied by performing the measurements of Bit Error Rate(BER)in any noise level. We verify that both of these modulation techniques still have high BER in case of high power ingress noise. Therefore the alternative solution to protect the ingress noise from subscriber's premises is required. This paper is proposed to improve the performance of the HFC network by isolating the drop cable from the another network but can pass upstream transmissions when sending device is active.

For pulse noise and high frequency measurements in electromagnetic compatibility, efficient small antennas of broadband frequency characteristics are required in various information system. Such broadband antennas are very useful for mobile communications and information transport system. Various antennas have so far been used with limited bandwidths. It becomes very important to develop a broadband antenna of wideband frequencies. In this research, we proposed an efficient small bow-tie antenna using semi-circular disks with hole slots, and anlyzed antenna characteristics of gain and input impedance using FDTD method comparing with other bow-tie antennas.

We made performance estimation of data transmission on the inter-university satellite network which is called SCS(Space Collaboration System). To provide data sharing services besides audiovisual exchange, we try to install a function of the multicast file transfer to SCS. Asymmetric satellite network is constructed using frequency division multiple access(FDMA)for a data channel and a slotted-ALOHA scheme for a feedback channel. We simulated the throughput performance of multicast communications with a selective ARQ(Automatic Repeat Request)as an error control for the reliable file transfer. The simulation results show bit error rate dominates through-put efficiency in the network.

In this paper, the realization of an equalizer using uniformly distributed RC circuit is presented. The magnitude response of this circuit can be increased at higher frequencies by the resistance ratios α(R_2/R_1)of the two uniformly distributed RC circuits. Some computer simulation results of magnitude response and sensitivity of the proposed circuits are carried out.

This paper proposed a design of crossover networks using Ultraspherical-Generalized Bessel polynomial. The main advantages of the proposed methods are high cutoff rate and linear phase. The parameter α, a and m are used to selected the optimum of amplitude and phase characteristics. Herein, the simulation results of characteristics response for the design of a fourth order transitional Ultraspherical-Generalized Bessel polynomials filter is compared to Linkwitz-Riley crossover networks.

The Normalized Quantized Gradient-Based adaptive algorithm(NQLMP)has many drawbacks. For example, it has high computational complexity and the statistical properties are poor, if the power p is high. In this paper the modification of the NQLMP algorithm(MNQLMP)is presented. The proposed algorithm uses the recursively first-order gradient signal energy to control the coefficient updating instead the recursively p-order gradient signal energy. This method caused the proposed algorithm has higher convergence speed and high accuracy of the filter coefficient more than the NQLMP algorithm. The results of computer simulation and Real-Time implementation are consistency which attest the MNQLMP algorithm is better than the NQLMP algorithm.

This paper proposes a new phase shifter based on a conductor-backed coplanar waveguide structure loaded periodically with reversed bias varactor diodes. Driving the phase shifter with serrodyne(sawtooth)modulation results in frequency shifting with a good sinusoidal waveform. Using this phase shifter with coherent technique yields a high accuracy and reliable microwave reflectometer. The experimental results of measured reflection coefficients for 25 and 50 Ω loads using this reflectometer system agree very well with ones from a current commercial network analyzer.

With cross-coupled CMOS topology, the new circuit can generate negative output voltage without suffering from threshold voltage drop of the MOS transistor. Therefore, the circuit can offer better voltage pumping gains and suitable for low voltage operation and good property in voltage regulation.

Traditionally, fuzzy sets are utilized to model uncertainty and imprecision in an image data. For tuning morphology to soft decision, the combination of a fuzzy and a morphological operator is the alternative method. This paper proposes the edge detection approach via performing the fuzzy morphological gradient to map a grey-scale image into an edge image. A notable strength of the fuzzy morphological gradient edge detector is that it does not require the use of a threshold and can suppress the below-scale detail. The proposed algorithm has been tested on various imageries, and the results have demonstrated that the proposed method outperforms the traditional morphological gradient techniques.

Texture feature extraction and segmentation can be considered in many methods. This work presents the methods of extracting texture features from Gabor filter and gray-level co-occurrence matrix. The both methods are compared by considering with many texture images. From this experiment, we showed that texture features derived from Gabor filter provides better results than those derived from gray-level co-occurrence matrix for all tested images.

In this paper, we propose a method of digital image watermarking using discrete wavelet transform. The watermark, generated by pseudo-random sequence is added to all high-frequency coefficients that are above a given threshold. By comparing the correlation between the wavelet coefficients of a possibly corrupted watermarked image and the watermark with a threshold, the embedded watermark can be detected. Experimental results are given to illustrate the robustness against smoothing, cropping, and JPEG compression.
