We propose a system that allows multiple groups of users at remote locations to naturally share a 3D image of real objects. All users can interactively observe a 3D stereoscopic image without distortion from their own viewpoints. The system basically consists of a combination of systems: imaging and display. The imaging system generates images of the real object observed from arbitrary viewpoints based an image-based rendering technique implemented on GPU. The display system generates a 3D virtual image of the real object based on the IllusionHole technique. Users at one place just put the real object on their imaging system to capture a set of its images from sparse viewpoints around it; other groups of multiple users at remote places connected by networks observe its virtual image from arbitrary viewpoints, as if there is a copy of the real object, on their display systems.

High image quality is an essential condition required for constructing displays with highly realistic sensation. There are several aspects on image quality. In this paper, motion-image-quality of displays is described as a factor of realistic sensation, after the relation between motion-image-quality and realistic sensation is briefly mentioned. While CRT has no artifact which deteriorates motion-image-quality, flat panel displays such as LCD, PDP and OLED, or field-sequential-color displays such as a kind of projector, have some essential motion-image-artifacts, such as motion blur, dynamic false contour, color break-up. Summary of them are described. Motion-image-quality of film systems is also mentioned.

Recent researches and developments by the authors in spatial audio for better music expression are introduced. In architectural acoustic design, auditory source width (ASW), which is an important characteristic of a sound image of psychological evaluations of sound fields, can be varied with modifying the wall shape. Electro-acoustic method is also useful for sound field control especially when architectural modification is limited. For multi-channel consumer audio system, novel method applying trans-aural technique can vary listener envelopment (LEV) so that a listener can be absorbed more in a reproduced content. Also for electronic orchestral music, more flexible method is proposed controlling direct and diffused component independently. Those controls of spatial audio can realize better expression of music.

We have proposed a new movie contents style which makes all audience participate in the story as a movie casts and give an experience of immersive sensation into the story. In 2005, at Mitsui-Toshiba pavilion of Aichi Expo., Future Cast System is implemented first in the world and 1,630,000 people have experienced the sensational contents "Grand Odyssey". This system is commercially succeeded as Future Cast Theater at HUIS TEN BOSCH, Nagasaki in 2007. It is very important factor to succeed to customize CG character full automatically and instantly without any stress to the audience. In this paper, we propose new character customization method with full automatic reflection of personality in facial expression, body size, gait, voice quality and hair style in a few minutes. Also real-time full body motion synthesis and rendering including hair is realized and as a result self-awareness rate at which one can recognize himself in the screen improves almost 90% comparing with 59% of EXPO.2005.

The manufacturing of Japan is in the state of extravagant cost competition. This situation has the problem by the business system that requires mass-producing. But the consumers are not requesting the mass-productions. It is necessary to develop the high quality and low cost manufacturing technique for the small lot productions. We think that 3D print technology is a key. It has another attractive ability. It is to be able to add the advanced function and difficult shape to the products.
