In multi-layer rewritable optical disc, we introduced extended write pulse compensation, which controlled laser pulse according to combination of both preceding and successive space lengths of 2T-mark. By applying this write strategy, rewritable triple-layer disc with a capacity of 100GB was realized with BD optical systems. In particular, the effect of this write strategy was significant in transparent information layer.

Playback system of high-definition video contents and super resolution near-field structure (super-RENS) ROM disc corresponding to 50GB capacity per layer are described. The playback of 4 channels of high-definition video contents was successfully demonstrated on high-definition television (HDTV) displays at the data transfer rates of 72Mbps using the super-RENS ROM disc. High potentiality of super-RENS technology to realize high density optical disc system beyond BD was confirmed.

Surface/interface effect affects magnetization direction of nanosized magnets. Exchange magnetic anisotropy is a type of interface magnetic anisotropy between ferromagnet and antiferromagnet, which changes its direction by the direction of the antiferromagnetic spins on the interface. Thus, it is possible to control the magnetization direction of nanosized magnets coupled with antiferromagnet by controlling antiferomagnetic spin direction. α-Cr_2O_3 is chosen as an antiferromagnet. α-Cr_2O_3 possesses uniaxial anisotropy and shows magnetoelectronic effect. In this study, we report the structure and the magnetic behavior of ultrathin Co film grown on α-Cr_2O_3(0001) film. The ultrathin Co film has the perpendicular anisotropy and the perpendicular exchange anisotropy simultaueously. From the investigation on change in magnetic properties by neighboring material to Co, it is revealed that the perpendicular anisotropy is mainly induced at the interface of Au cap layer/Co but the Co/α-Cr_2O_3 interface also contribute the perpendicular anisotropy via collinear couplings of Co and Cr spins.

It was gone out of the world economic crisis, but it is not clear in the future. We expect about technical development in large capacity of HDD according to IT Industries and intent, increase of information in every year, conservation. In addition it, it is increasing capacity of flash memory. It is the point in using of HDD and Flash memory. In circumstance, I would like to view about HDD and flash memory in 2010.

In these days, the portable televisions such as mobile phones which receive 1 segment of digital terrestrial television broadcasting have spread in Japan. However, as the picture of 1 segment is low resolution, realization of high resolution picture by receiving 12 segments is expected. But required C/N (Carrier to Noise ratio) for receiving 12 segments is higher than 1 segment because of the difference of modulation. So it is necessary to develop 12 segments high sensitive receiving technology. We have introduced 4-Antenna Diversity system in this portable television and developed high sensitive receiving antennas. And then we have evaluated receiving sensitivity with spatial fading emulator and field test. From these results, it has turned out that 12 segments receiving sensitivity of developed portable television is comparable to 1 segment sensitivity of mobile phone.

Since the functionality and universal design of video camcorders have been improved year after year, it becomes easier for users to shoot video scenes as intend. However, it seems still difficult to fix shooting-misses completely. In view of this, shooting-miss factors by amateur beginner users have been studied in order to reveal the route to shoot better scenes readily. Then a shooting-assist function is developed and implemented to consumer camcorders referring those factors.

A new measurement on camera shakes featuring a combination of a gyroscope and signal processing is reported. For higher accuracy, shake movements are separated into rotational and translational motions. Advanced quantitative analysis on image quality is also presented considering the effect from translation which was not discussed previously.

To evaluate for the middleware of embedded system at the development early stage, we construct development environment. This is the evaluation environment for function test/load test/cyclic test. By applying the evaluation environment, we can check the quality verification for middleware. And we can ensure quality for embedded system.

We have developed laser light source projector with high brightness and ultra-short throw distance, making full use of the advantages of laser such as high luminance, small etendue and high color purity. Brightness of 7,000lm, throw distance of 60cm at 100 inch image size, and color gamut of 170% compared with NTSC are achieved. High visibility by high luminance, convenience of installation by ultra-short throw distance, and vivid image by high color reproduction enable variable application of the projector. In this paper, we describe our original developed technology such as triple-rod illumination optical system, ultra-short projection optical system, and laser color processing.
