Holographic memory is a promising technology as the next-generation optical data storage because of its advantages including large capacity, high data-transfer rate, and long archival life of recording media. We have been studying on the holographic memory for video archiving use, and demonstrated recording / reproducing data pages using a data page format with binary symbol. For further increase of capacity and data-transfer rate, recording and reproduction using a data page format with multi-level symbol is essential. Because the multi-level symbol detection is more severe than binary symbol’s case, noise reduction methods for multi-level detection are required for maintaining low bit-error rate enough for capability of error correction code. In this report, we investigate the fixed pattern noise in optical system of holographic memory and present a technique for reducing the fixed pattern noise from reproduced data pages.
PC based viewer for CCTV videos is not fit for some use case. To provide easy way to watch CCTV videos, viewer based on home use Optical Disc Player is proposed. Some CCTV specific functions, e.g. real time search, are written as control command of standardized disc content. In this paper, we studied how to implement real time based jump and channel changing on the home use Optical Disc Players.
