In the VHF lower band in Japanese analog TV broadcasting (Ch. 1-3), radio waves from nearby countries are reflected in ionospheric layer that called as "Sporadic-E" and caused interference to the TV reception. We analyzed electric field strength of interference wave by "Sporadic-E" throughout the year. As a result of analysis, we found that the statistical distribution of the field strength can be using log-nominal distribution.
In this study, the effect of Indoor environment on the performance of a W-CDMA adaptive array antenna (AAA) for mobile terminals is investigated experimentally. A W-CDMA AAA receiving system for a 4-element array antenna is developed and used to measure the BER performance in indoor experiment. The experimental results have demonstrated the AAA can improve the SIR significantly compared with the single antenna.
