This article describes a method for applying preoperative contrast-enhanced computed to-mography (CT) to guiding catheter procedures. The utility of this technique, which allows the operator to perform the procedure while cross-referencing CT location information with the fluoroscopic monitor display and understanding the three-dimensional (3D) structure of the patient’s anatomy, is described.
Furthermore, several situations where cannulation of a branch vessel with a guiding catheter is desirable are presented, and an explanation of each technique is provided.
Finally, examples of how the interpretation of fluoroscopic in-formation, based on CT location data, can be applied to hemostasis, drainage, and puncture procedures are introduced.

In recent years, the radial artery approach has been widely used due to its convenience and safety, with an expanding range of indications. This article provides an overview of the fundamental techniques and hemostasis management associated with this approach. Furthermore, endo-vascular treatments for subclavian artery branches are discussed with emphasis on their ana-tomical characteristics. In addition, the application of this approach to thoracoabdominal vessels is presented, highlighting its clinical utility and important technical considerations.

The pulmonary artery has many branches and complex anatomy, and its catheterization requires skill. This article explains the approach to reach the pulmonary artery during pulmonary angiography and describes the anatomy of the pulmonary artery, types of catheters to engage each branch of the pulmonary artery, catheter operation methods, and complications that should be noted.

Steering microcatheters have revolutionized interventional radiology by enabling selective catheterization of previously inaccessible vessels. However, their unique operational charac-teristics often discourage operators from utilizing their full potential. We present practical operating techniques and institutional modifications for the effective single-operator use of steering microcatheters.
Our preferred technique enables a single operator to simulta-neously perform catheter tip positioning, dial operation, and guidewire manipulation using indirect guidewire control through microcatheter advancement. This approach significantly increases the frequency of vessel selection attempts per unit time and facilitates selection of vessels branching at acute angles from larger parent vessels.
These practical techniques maximize the utility of steering microcatheters for challenging vessel selections. The methods can be practiced using vascular models and offer significant advantages for interventional procedures requiring precise vessel catheterization.
