In this paper, the authors have described the practice of remedial education in English Department in a junior college. We have been giving word tests to all of our students, both first year and second year students, twice a week for a year and a half. One of the difficulties students face when they study English is the shortage of vocabulary. By giving the tests repetitively, students are able to get a larger vocabulary. The cooperation of all the teachers is indispensable to give word tests repetitively. We are successful in that respect and it seems that students have made progress in their ability of English as a whole, not merely in the amount of words they can use or understand.
