1. If the data obtained by the method of fractionation or by the method of multiplication take the form of log S_k=a log S+b, a in the equation sometimes suggests the form of underlying scale function.
2. When a equals to unity, the underlying function is a power law, and if a is equal to k, the underlying function is a Fechnerian law.
3. A general equation is suggested for the case where a is neither 1.00 nor k.
