Hydrogen release compound, which is mainly composed of poly-lactate ester, was injected into one chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons (CAHs) contaminated site through injection well rows for enhancing bioremediation process and preventing contaminated groundwater from flowing out of the site. Its remediation effect as a permeable biobarrier to treat CAHs contaminated groundwater and its influence on microorganism environment in subsurface aquifer were investigated.
CAHs remediation effect was con f irmed that concentrations of primary source contaminant tetrachloroethene and its daughter products decreased after the hydrogen release compound injection and half-lives of these products substantially decreased after that. Subsurface aquifer microorganism environment change after the hydrogen release
