The sequence of strata and the correlation between them by the pyroclastic key bed in each section of Boso and Miura Peninsulas, Central Japan are shown in Table I.
The Kiyosumi sandstone in Boso Peninsula is correlated to the lower half part of the Zusi mudstone in Takabe-Horinouti section, Miura Peninsula.
The Inakozawa mudstone is correlated to the greater part of the Zusi mudstone in the same section,
The Simoyamaguti sandstone and conglomerate, and the Takoegawa sandtone and conglomerate are the peripheral conglomerate of the Kamakura formation, and the Simoyamaguti sandstone and conglomerate is the horizone situated far lower than Takoegawa sandstone and conglomerate stratigraphically.
