Japanese enterprise self-denied the characteristic of Japanese management by introducing the performance-based evaluation and became the result of weakening global competitiveness. As a result, it comes at time when the new human management system is considered. Labor and management should cooperate there, and working aim at the enterprise where it exists. Becoming the key word is motivation. The necessity of the work life balance like the talent use of the woman etc. increases. It is not a trade-off relation to improve employee's quality, and to raise the profit of the enterprise. Something is considered so that the young and old man and woman may invent the service of high-value-added healthily and enthusiastically as what the enterprise should do.

The purpose of competitive strategy is to realize a competitive advantage to a competitor. It is supposed that excellent competitive strategy is to be designed with an analytic approach. However, in the business of the real world, when a manager makes decisions, management resources begin to function and the enterprise is developing dynamically. Moreover, a management base is formed by continuous decision-making and management strategy comes to be affected to the management base. Furthermore, competition is also affected in the strategies of the other companies. In such a dynamic competition structure, we cannot design the competitive strategy in advance. So, in this research, I show clearly what kind of strategy is effective by using a business game.

Entering 21st Century, being pressed for financial globalization, it has become imperative for Japanese financial institutions including banks and securities companies to establish global strategy and strategic information systems (SIS), yet such development has been delayed due to computer network system failures. In the past, those failures were often treated as technical issues. This study aims to make a different approach by clarifying the background and treating them as ones resulting from a strategic management. The author analyzes two case studies; a study on a city bank aspired to be a megabank and a study on Tokyo Stock exchange, a core institution of stock exchange, so as to indicate main challenges as well as measures which Japanese financial institutions face in developing SIS.

Solar cell industry has expanded the market quickly. This solar cell industry is analyzed from the architecture as compared with semiconductor industry and LCD industry. The process days of the semiconductor is one to two months, it of the LCD is four - five days. In contrast, it of the solar cell is less than one day. Therefore, the turnkey equipment is sold. Thus, industrial structure completely differs, and the new concept of "single module industry" can be defined. When based on this concept, the strengthening direction of Japanese competitiveness in solar cell industry is integrality.

Organizations are increasingly using teams which consist of members from different divisions . Such a business form, called a cross-functional team, needs to be made taking account not only of individuals' performance or management cost, but also of interactions or relationships among individuals. In this research, a method for formation of cross-functional teams, with the consideration on social networks on individuals who are the candidates for the team, is proposed. Social networks in this method describe the interactions or the relationships among the candidates. This research adopts an approach with agent-based simulation for the analysis of the formation of cross- functional team, and treats interactions or relationships among individuals.

This essay analyzes wage-setting system in the use of implementation theory, in particular, sub-game perfect equilibrium (SPE) implementation. This essay focuses on the transition from "hourly-paid wage setting system", in which over time premium is paid based on the overtime working hour, to "performance-based payment system" such as white-collar exemption system. Precisely, the essay analyze whether the said transition can be selected as a reasonable decision for both employers and workers, in other word, the outcome of the choice correspondence, which require better outcome for both, can be included in the set of solution of SPE. If so, the essay identifies the conditions of "environment" of wage setting which is required for the model to be SPE "implementable".

We propose a new DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) approach to assess the operational, environmental and both-unified performance of U.S. coal-fired power plants. The economic activities of power plants examined by this study are characterized by four inputs, a desirable (good) output and three undesirable (bad) outputs. The proposed approach finds that the CAA (Clean Air Act) has been increasingly effective on their environmental protection. The increased environmental performance leads to the enhancement of the unified efficiency.

CSR activities with externality are divided into two categories. One is some activities which use firm's know-how (e.g. donating shoes by some shoes company). The other one is a donation by sales (e.g. using the part of sales for development of developing country). Because the firm needs to add cost of CSR activities to price of goods, it may be forced to choose which activity they should do for consumers. We analyse the difference of incentive between the CSR activities for the company and social desirability with respect to the way how the firm supplies CSR activities. We show that, under some conditions, the former CSR activity is desirable, but firms have higher incentive to choose latter CSR activity.

Distinguished from the existing knowledge systems, this system has two specific features. Firstly, peoples activities and knowledge creating processes instead of knowledge objects are focused in this system. Secondly, it effectively helps to manage not only explicit knowledge, but also tacit knowledge through a systemic approach. With clearly specified management principles, artificial intelligence are capable to understand the implication of these key activities and navigate them towards the continuity of knowledge creation spiral.

However, the spread to various users of information system based on advanced technologies transfigure an information system itself greatly. Also the user is the developer, operator and manager of the information processing systems like EUD not only as a beneficiary of a mere functional benefit. On the other hand, however, the policy concern with maintenance and management of the information system is neglected. Therefore, the system become malfunction and sometimes fatal situations. In this paper, an information system is reconsidered as symbiosis environment of the technological system and the users, which was adapted for the present information environment.

There has been a strong need for improving software quality in industry. Quality prediction based on the limited number of software metrics which can be easily collected in practice is highly demanded. The Rayleigh model which can predict the number of total defects based on defect detection history of the target project is one of the promising techniques to meet such needs. However, the model has several problems to be solved for practical application. One of the problems is that the model would predict smaller number of total defects than the number of defects which had already detected. The authors propose a method to resolve this inconsistency by introducing the idea of conditional probability. The effectiveness of the proposed method was validated through real software project data.

To reduce CO2 emission, dispersed generators such as solar or wind energy has been promoted. But a problem is a difficulty to predict the unstable amount of power output which is influenced by weather change. Recently, the micro-grid system with batteries has gaining attentions as this type of system can compensate the inherent deficiency of the photovoltaic systems that its output volume fluctuates. In this paper, we propose an operational model for this type of micro-grid. The model aims to minimize the volume of electricity purchased from outside given the expected volume by photovoltaic generation, which is, based on solar radiation forecast. We also have verified the effectiveness of the model by means of numerical simulations.

In order to reduce development costs and to secure high skill resources, many software developers are promoting offshoring to China. We analyze the success factors of offshoring from the data accumulated in the project information sharing system. It shows that the projects with fewer specification defects resulting in lower inquiry volume are more likely to be successful. So are the projects in which the average time required to answer the inquiries is shorter. All the projects in which the average answer time exceeds two days fail. It was confirmed from the analysis that the reduction of specification defects and the tightening of the communication with offshore developers are the key success factors.

In this study we made a focus on meetings which is typical intellectual interaction and tested applicability of transaction-based management. First, we integrated the transaction-based evaluation model for meetings by taking pre/post-related activities into account. Then we surveyed effects of key activity indicators to key performance indicators and developed covariance structuring models based on a series of correlation and regression analyses. Finally we hypothetically proposed a managerial model for increasing intellectual productivity of meetings and conferences and reinforcing project management capabilities.

Organizational knowledge-creating processes rely on tacit powers of knowing and creativity of organization members. This paper proposes an approach to utilize a systems methodology as a tool for cultivating and disseminating such powers. For the purpose we first devise an ideal type of organizational knowledge-creating processes. Then a systems methodology is updated by comparing it with the derived ideal type, and hence an application process of the updated systems methodology can be formally regarded as an organizational knowledge-creating process. Finally, it is shown that such a systems methodology may be utilized for disseminating tacit powers of talented persons as its users to organization members.

In this paper, the authors propose a knowledge utilization model and derive its statistical models by using the questionnaire data collected from Japanese software quality management practitioners. The result showed that the different models were derived corresponding to knowledge domains, and that both surface and deep level externalized knowledge have influences on knowledge utilization especially for the knowledge domain of post-release software problems.

Relevance Vector Machine (RVM) is one of the typical techniques in such methods. There is, however, a room to develop the performance for multivalued classification problems, although RVM is known as an excellent two-class classifier. Then, we propose in this paper a technique for multivalued classification by the redundant configuration of two-class classifiers and calculation of the posterior probability by using the property that RVM is a probabilistic model. The proposed technique is applied to a classification problem of newspaper articles to show its effectiveness, then, it is verified that the classification accuracy is improved.

Product information had historically been transmitted unidirectionally from businesses to consumers through mass media. Popularization of the Internet brought about wide distribution of consumer generated information such as user reviews which has come to affect purchase decisions.
In this paper, the author proposed new communication platform for bidirectional business-to-consumer communication. The purpose of building the research platform is to try to observe relationship between the change of consumer purchase behavior and richness of the communication.

Large enterprises introduced environmental management, and the small and medium-sized enterprises which are those business partners are pushing forward environmental actions under greening pressure. However, it cannot be said that the environmental management of SME spreads in communities. This is because support for SME is insufficient. Zaima (2009) classified SME in four types and showed that environmental management support demanded by each type was different. Zaima (2009) also clarified the present conditions of the support for the SME in the community. In this study, we make an agent-based mode on the basis of the previous study and show some simulation results of the basic model.

The guardians of children who go to early childhood and elementary educational facilities are expected to support those facilities. However, since these supporting activities are usually unpaid works, guardians are likely to lose their motivations if the tasks which they are engaged in do not suit their personalities. Therefore, these activities have become difficult to implement effectively based on the well organized system now.
In this research, a model for management of guardians' support activities in those facilities is presented. The model aims at supporting of planning and implementing these activities more effectively in line with recent socio-economic changes. It is designed on the basis of the previous researches and the data on a private kindergarten in Yokohama.

Conceptual Forms Model is a mathematical expression of relationship between database and its input/output forms, which enables us to derive possible conceptual forms implied with its targeted data source through mathematical calculation. Recently, we found a more simple expression of the model applied with adjacency matrix. We are able to build a middleware engine for a practical connection of database and form generator. In this study, we depict a prototype of "Conceptual Form Engine."

There are three types of alliance among SMEs based on networking; the supply chain model, the collaboration model, and the hybrid model combined with those two ones. In order to develop SMEs with limited enterprise resources, it is essential to promote alliance among them. Successful alliance requires the two key factors. The first one is the hybrid model networking enabling SMEs to have integral relationships. The second one is multilayered networking consisting of core, partner, and client enterprises.

A large number of earlier studies partially revealed the mechanism of the non-performing loan accumulation of Japanese banks in 1990s. However, no study has yet conducted the variable selections from the mound of factors including the competitive environment, the monitoring stance to borrowers, the dependency on specific counter-parties, or the characteristics of bank managers. This study, using an artificial intelligence approach, explored some key influential factors on the accumulation of non-performing loans. As a result, (1) the allocation of management resources to borrowers, (2) the dependency on some specific counter-parties, and (3) the delay in the reduction of non-core expenses have been proven a key factor, in the past and present.

In the consumer behavior models(CBM) proposed since the end of the 19th century, communication was unidirectional, from corporations to consumers, because they were based on mass marketing. With the recent spread of the Internet, communication means became diversified and enabled information transfer from consumers to corporations, as well as among consumers, and new CBM incorporated those additions started to be published.
In this paper, changes in communication between business and consumer before and after the Internet are discussed, leveraging past researches and client management tools, using the framework of CBM. Analysis is carried out focusing on viewpoints of directions of the communication and granularity of consumer observation in CBM.
