In recent years, value-in-use is focused as emerging competitive factor. Traditional manufacturing business model considers to produce products as value. Value-in-use considers to create value, for when customer use the products. Some differentiations of value-in-use increases opportunities of encounter with company and customer. Therefore, value-in-use is expected to develop customer loyalty. However, the researches of value-in-use are small in number, so far. And, the differentiations concept and method of value-in-use is not clearly defined. This research considers creating the differentiations of value-in-use. The concept types of value-in-use and the methods of differentiation of value-in-use are defined.

Although there exist some big-data that are collected at reasonable cost easily, many other data take much cost to collect them. One of the latter cases includes historical purchasing and questionnaire data with IDs, simultaneously. For such case, we can often use only historical purchasing data for other IDs, additionally, however such data do not include questionnaire data.
As for applying questionnaire data for other customers, transfer learning model can be a promising approach, and we propose a transfer learning model to estimate happiness for a practical fashion site data. From some computational experiments, we show practical results and discuss about them.

To clarify consumer behavior in more detail, it is important to grasp customer interests in purchasing. To do so, it is useful to analyze both ID-POS data and the data of customer's moving log in store simultaneously, and it is needed that the log data is collected easily and precisely. In this paper, we propose an estimation method utilizing time series data of received signal strength indicator between BLE beacon and smart device. It can be thought that such the data is similar to the customer's moving log data. From our experiments, we collect several log data and estimate moving location from the data.

Governments are promoting the use of open data, providing also tools and services. However, their presumed uses are mainly based on a single data set. Potentially most valuable uses of public data, however, consist of combining two or more data sets which are independently designed and collected. For this kind of use, there must be two prior conditions. First, the catalogue of existing open data sets must be available. Secondly, two or more data sets must be combined efficiently. As this is outside of the original scope of the data providors, tools and services to combine more than one data sets do not seem widely available. The article addresses these issues around combining two or more open/public data sets, as a preparation for statistical analyses.

Several years have passed since the era of big data came. Furthermore, the development of deep learning in recent years has been remarkable, and it extends not only to the field of image processing but also to the field of natural language processing and speech recognition. In this study, we practice sentence generation, and mainly compare and consider the three methods used there. 1) Markov chain, 2) automatic summary, 3) sentence generation by deep learning (RNN / LSTM). As a subject, it is considered that the connection between sentence and sentence is unnatural as a subject. Consider the connection between natural sentences and sentences that are practical.

Companies that use bitcoin, one of the cryptocurrency, in transactions are increasing, but losses in the event of leakage on the private key are inevitable.
The existing hardware wallet (Hardware wallet : HW) that manages the private key can be used even when the host is connected to the Internet, and there is a risk of illegal operation on the HW by the bot.
Therefore, we propose a protocol that allows the host to use the hardware by confirming disconnection from the Internet, and compare the execution time of conventional transaction generation with the proposed method.
As a result, although the overhead exists in the proposed method over the conventional method for generating transactions, we report that the security improves.

Innovation can be classified into two types: incremental innovation and radical innovation. Incremental innovation is a series of improvement of existing technologies. Radical innovation completely replaces existing technologies. Creating both innovation is essential for firms to achieve sustainable development. Although many exiting studies have analyzed innovation by using patent data, none of them distinguish two innovations. This study classifies patents into “incremental patent" and “radical patent" representing incremental innovation and radical innovation, respectively. Furthermore, we clarify the characteristics of both patents focusing on their cited patents.

We have developed the stratified N-Gram method, which is able to extract coined words and phrases those are difficult to extract by morphological analysis. Moreover, we proposed the method to extract the strategy-words with differences among enterprises and changes in time sequence, based upon stratified N-Gram. We also proposed the method to extract companies and periods, which are presumed that they had been under characteristic business conditions (e.g. unique management policy), by identifying financial indicators that show characteristic behavior against other competitors for specific period. In this article, we propose a concept of "Enterprise Information Mining", which extract valuable information from time sequences of both text data and corporate financial data.

In markets with network effects, the first firm that establishes a large installed base of customers has a decided advantage. Thus, it is important for a firm to gain market share at an early stage of market development. However, it might be wrong for a firm to place too much importance on gaining market share, because some researchers point out that not every successful firm was a first mover. Therefore, further understanding of network effects is required. This study aims to quantitatively clarify the network effects from a hypothetical viewpoint that the impact of network effects on diffusion of service or product may differ at each diffusion stage of market development.

In order to understand consumers' purchasing decision process, two research approaches are well known. One is analytic approach that statistically analyze questionnaire surveys to derive it, and the other is constitutive approach that verify the assumption for it by dynamic simulation such as MAS (multi-agent simulation). Conventional constitutive researches typically verify the assumption model by comparing simulated trend of sales volume with actual trend as observable metrics. In this article, the authors propose a model verification method, which can compare simulator agents' decision process with actual questionnaire survey. Then, the proposed method has been implemented on generic MAS simulator, by adding two features that are logging agents' decisions and answering to questionnaire. Finally, pilot trials of this method are discussed.

This study examines managerial efficiency of nine regional banks that was newly established by mergers conducted from 2002 to 2013. For the purpose, this study estimates stochastic frontier production functions using a data set comprising the nine merged banks and the other non-merged regional banks. Ordinary revenue is used as a dependent variable, and number of employees, number of branches, and fund procurement cost are used as independent variables for the production function. Estimation results present statistically significant coefficients of the number of employees and the fund procurement cost, and found significant differences in efficiencies between merged and non-merged banks. The result does not necessarily indicate the merged banks improve their managerial efficiency.

The Japanese petrochemical industry has acquired a competitive advantage from self-development technologies, based on a number of technology insertion. This study demonstrates the influence of technology insertion on research and development (R&D) capability. The study employs network analysis and statistical analysis using data from 2009 and 2013 for technology insertion in the petrochemical industry. The results show that technology insertion positively affect R&D capability. Furthermore, the results also demonstrate a marginal effect of technology insertion on R&D capability. The effect of external knowledge network efficiency in firms' networks that have similar technology insertion on R&D capability is also marginal. This research demonstrates the mechanism of the result through the existence of technological knowledge transfers in the external knowledge network.

While traditional business process modeling focuses on systematic and precise description of task execution sequences along with the information on related resources and organizations, limited attention is paid to temporal properties, such as task execution delay and deadlines. However, actual business processes include various asynchronous waits which form waiting lines for each task, and these processes show the aspect of ``queuing networks". This paper proposes a Colored Petri net (CPN) based approach to integrate the above function oriented business processes with the temporal and probabilistic queueing networks, which makes it possible to model and evaluate the business processes from functional and temporal viewpoints simultaneously.

The purpose of this research is to create a model that can evaluate the recognition of leadership to build measures to recognize leadership. There are four types of leadership: instruction, empower, exchange, transformation. Of these, the transformation type and the exchange type are formalized in the Principal Agency model that generally shows the relationship between the leader and the follower of the conventional research, while the indication type and the empower type are not formalized. Modeling those two types of leadership is required to comprehensively evaluate leadership. Our final goal is to create a unified model that integrates four types of models.

This study aims to provide a new method to improve accuracy of a summary by employing ontology in automatic summarization of academic articles focused on segment structure. Existing automatic summarization methods cannot recognize the meaning or interrelationships of the meaning of words. Ontology can recognize them and it is expected to enable more precise choice of important sentences. Specifically, this study aims to increase accuracy of choosing important sentences that are suitable for each segment by assigning ontological characteristics to each segment. Also, this study aims to improve overall quality of the summary by adjusting sentences picked up from each segment, considering interrelationships of the meaning of words.

In the Japanese automotive industry, as seen in the "Copen" of Daihatsu cars, the exterior parts that are attached later, such as conventional grills, skirts, spoilers, etc., are of the same shape, but now the shape of them are available to be customized with a 3D printer. Here we can see an example of the shift from mass production to mass customization. A supplier of certain foundries manufacture molds such as turbochargers, cylinder blocks, and exhaust manifolds with 3D printers for 10 years.
However, in many automotive manufacturers and suppliers, the production of parts with 3D printers has not been replaced by conventional construction methods. This paper discuss the problems and their solutions for dissemination of 3D printers from the usage situation in Japanese automotive industry.
