    This article discusses how vocational training instructors develop their social skills or career adaptabilities, generic skills by analysing quantitative data from free description. The training for vocational training instructors are composed of repeated practical exercises and classroom learning, however, it has sufficiently been discussed neither which affects their acquisition nor how they improve their skills as vocational training instructors. They have their own vocational majors, the vocational skills also vary in every instructor, hence, taking it into account, this article dare to focus on social skills and career adaptabilities as generic skills, which are required by all of them, and investigate how they develop them. There being some exceptions, the results of analysis of free description for 24 instructors indicate that it is obvious that the trainings on each stage can help them develop not only their professional skills but also their social skills and career adaptabilities as generic skills.

    Vibration phenomenon has been taught using advanced mathematics and dynamics in seismic education of Japan. Many students and engineers, without understanding these advanced theories have been carried out as practices the seismic design using the vibration analysis software. Thus, in this study focused on damping vibration under the concept to understand by calculation by myself, damping vibration model and basic mathematical theory were proposed to carry out the seismic educations.

    The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effect of experiences of internship program at vocational ability development center on students' vocational choice from the viewpoint of functions of significant other. The finding of this research is as follows; first is that the students have difficulties in deciding which internship program they choose, therefore they tend to compare various jobs. Second is that internship at vocational ability development center mainly provides two functions of significant other. Especially support and enjoyment functions influence students’ vocational experiences effectively.

    The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effect of graduate network on job matching in engineering college students. So far job matching has been discussed what type of social ties affects the job matching. Focusing on the graduate network, this paper analyzed how graduate network is interpreted and used by students in their job matching process. As result, engineering students take advantage of graduate networks in job searching and matching, especially for socialization, signaling, and selection. On the other hand, students those who don’t have these networks have trouble of job matching by contrast.

    This study aimed at generating the hypothesis model which focuses on cognitive load and cognitive strategies in a young trainee’s skill training process, and suggested regulating cognitive load in that process. A Qualitative analysis called “SCAT” method was conducted. Result implies that the young trainee formed knowledge on cognitive load in time factor, judgmental factor, and affective factor during work operation, and then developed cognitive strategies to regulate these loads in the training. Memorization strategies were used to support these knowledge formation and strategies development. Those findings suggest that cognitive load is needed to regulate in skill training process. There are possibilities to make skill development more effective by instructing time management, showing some options for judgment, and giving temporal permission to concentrate on a few important tasks,

    The present study discusses a role and the principle of the expert for a Japanese team to get good results in WorldSkills competition. We analyzed the attribute (the experience number of times, position) of a total of 3,882 experts including 1,125 experts who participated in WorldSkills competition 2015 held in August, 2015 and investigated the attribute and the relations with the results of the competitor based on some viewpoints. The results from this survey indicates that the result is correlative with the skill of expert. This study makes a contribution to train for the expert and improve the results for the competition.

    The present study was undertaken in order to seek a way of effective training for getting the good results in WorldSkills competition (WSC). The “Information network cabling” trade has achieved 6 gold medals since it began as the official trade in Shizuoka 2007. Also in WSC2013, the competitor commended the Albert Vidal Award that a Japanese has never won in the WSC. We survey the activities of “Information Network Cabling” trade for WSC and discuss the way of training. In this paper, we present a skill development & training team for Japanese competitor. This study makes a contribution to train for the expert and improve the results for the competition.

    Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is one of the metaheuristic techniques. It is widely used in various fields. It is excellent in convergence of solutions. However it has a tendency to easily drop into local optima and is difficult to get out of them. Mutation operators used in Genetic Algorithm (GA) are effective in avoiding local optima and in maintaining diversity. Recently some researchers try to incorporate mutation operators to PSO to improve its search performance. In this paper, the influence that the amount of displacements caused by mutation operators gives the search performance is investigated. Five test functions are taken up to evaluate the performance.

    The Department of Electrical Systems at Kanto Polytechnic College offers education and training in programmable logic controller (PLC) control. The authors aim to establish a consistent four-year PLC control training program. However, PLC control training harbors many problems. For example, the devices are generally expensive, there are only a limited number of devices available, and the content of education varies with each instructor. Therefore, we examined the current problems and sorted out the issues. In this paper, we discuss how these problems can be resolved by reorganizing the curriculum structure and sharing the teaching materials. This will enable a more systematic administration of the curriculum for PLC control, which can be expected to make the education and training program more effective.

    This paper investigates the difference of psychological evaluations between natural and artificial plants by questionnaire surveys. Previous studies show the optimal green factor to give stress recovery for office workers by questionnaire surveys and subject experiments. In order to investigate whether artificial plants are evaluated psychologically equal to natural plants or not, questionnaire surveys are carried out for office workers with sheets including pictures of a simulated office room with 7 greenery types of different green view factors of natural and artificial plants relatively, including the control condition with no plants. As a result, natural plants are evaluated more favorable than artificial plants for stress recovery.

    Bamboo PSL (bamboo parallel strand lumber) showed the potential to be used as bending and compression members. Therefore, rotational stiffness test was carried out in order to study the practical use of the bamboo PSL joints. The material of bamboo PSL was used an average moisture content of 7.5% of Moso-chiku (Phyllostachys heterocycla f. pubescens Muroi). Adhesive for bonding bamboo strands was used aqueous polymer isocyanate-based. Joints of L-shaped specimens were constructed bamboo PSL members of the length 600 mm in cross-section 90 mm. Rotational stiffness tests were repeated three times each from 1/450 to 1/30 rad of deformation angle. Experimental results were maximum moment:4.4 kN·m, deformation angle:0.114 rad and rotational stiffness:65 kN·m/rad. In order to determine the rotational stiffness of the joints of the bamboo PSL, it is necessary to perform properly the crooss-sectional design of the members.

    Optical interferometry with laser has been developed for noncontact profiling of surfaces and noncontact diagnostics of precision systems.1) We have proposed phase-shifting interferometers with a frequency-modulated laser diode (LD).2) The phase shifts were easily produced at high speed by changing the wavelength of the LD on an unbalanced interferometer through the variation of injection current.3) The phase measurement without making calibration of the phase shifts has been realized by Carre technique4) in which phase shifts at regular intervals are produced by stepwise current modulation of the LD. A phase error caused by the power change of the LD has been analyzed theoretically and a phase extraction algorithm which is insensitive to changes in laser power associated with current variation has been newly developed.5) A new algorithm for LD phase-shifting interferometer with Carre technique is proposed and a phase without the error caused by the power change can be obtained.

    When I plan and perform a new seminar, set a “hypothesis” that is “this kind of seminar is what customers are looking for” to achieve the high application rate. It is required to investigate the needs of the customer, and then report the work of planning, advertising and performing. The characteristic of this report is to set “the hypothesis” of a demanded seminar, and there is in the technique that presented all actions with centering this hypothesis. Regarding collecting the advice from the various viewpoints of people and planning a new seminar, it applies to anybody. However, everybody is not strongly asking for. This result occurs the curriculum can be possibly weak. The action centering on this “hypothesis” prevented such a thing and elaborated a plan as technique to plan a seminar to lead the customer who aimed to the attendance surely.

    The authors are engaged in helping the students who have great skills pass Technical-Skills-Test Grade2 and helping the students get qualification to take part in World-Skills Competition and the Young’s-Skill-Competition. As a result of considering the present situation and some problem, I have got three troublesome things: (1)Costing lots money to participate in the Competition in respect of machinery and equipment; (2)Inability to teach students enough knowledge, technique and skills because of lack of educators’ teaching ability and skills; (3)Difficulty of measure in surveyed high school curriculum only and it take lots of time; In this paper, I am wondering if students think that “progress of skills” is fruit of leaning. So, I send a questionnaire to students who joined the 9th young’s skill competition’s Mechatronics part, their parents and their teachers in order to clarify leaning effect of cultivating. I wrote the result.

    In Japan, it is the weak coordination between the education and vocational training. In this paper, towards those two appropriate cooperation, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, to validate the past Efforts to including the central Vocational Ability Development Association, was trying to derive the future challenges. Specifically, in the post-war Japan, general education and that vocational training has been interrupted, thereby it pointed out that has been is narrowed the possibility of opportunities and future design of vocational training of students, university reform, Occupation redefining the industrial base high school, by methods such as high atmospheric linkage, we aimed to solve these social issues.

    Technology education, a compulsory subject in junior high schools, involves a range of classwork that includes practical, hands-on training. This requires that classrooms devoted to that purpose have dedicated facilities and equipment. However, there is a risk of worsening the state of these technology classrooms when rebuilding school facilities. This paper looks at the aforementioned issue and takes Tokyo's Kita-ku, which is pursuing across-the-board reconstruction of its public junior high schools, as a case study for the survey, analysis, and explication of how technology education classrooms change when public junior high schools are rebuilt. Our findings showed that, even though, as sites for practical training, technology education classrooms play a pivotal role in the curriculum, there is virtually no system in place by which opinions and requests from faculty in charge of those classrooms are utilized when proceeding towards a reconstruction.

    The author summarized the trend of changes to the vocational education of higher education at this report.And the author proposed the new relation between education and vocational training from this summary.The author summarized four points about the trend of changes to the vocational education of higher education as follows.(1) Developing programs which access easily for an adult.(2) Clarification of individuality and features of each schools or educational facilities.(3) Effective use of resources that each educational facilities have.(4) Clarification of a learning outcome.When we envision the future of Japanese vocational capability development,it is necessary to look at the overall picture of trend of changes to the vocational education of higher education.

    An urgent challenge in manufacturing PBL, including applied course in polytechnic universities, is scientific evaluation and appropriate intervention of competence for process innovation. This study therefore reviews studies which recently attract attention, that is, on innovation, teamwork in manufacturing, team-based learning, project-based learning and team learning at work. The findings suggested that: (1) active learning approaches have a limit for such needs of improving evaluation and intervention in manufacturing PBL; (2) working team learning theories have verified team learning’s impact on innovation but they still need to identify antecedent factors; (3) there is a need to investigate learning aspects of team work itself in case of manufacturing.

    The quake resistance of the existing timber frame house decreases by the aged deterioration of the building. The architectural engineer in charge of a seismic evaluation must grasp a deterioration state of the building. A purpose of this study is to obtain information about the deterioration of the existing timber frame house. At first I showed an example about deterioration of the wooden member of the existing timber frame house and the deterioration of the foundation structure. Then, I carried out the concrete strength investigation about the foundation structure of the store combination house. This building was built with a timber frame house in 1968. As a result of investigation, the concrete strength was very different depending on the investigation positions. This investigation was carried out as a study session for architectural engineers.
