In this project, a toileting aid was created to enable independent toileting for elderly and mobility-impaired individuals. The aid functions like regular underwear, facilitating easy wear, removal, and hygiene management while reducing contamination. Commercially available underwear formed the foundation of the design, and self-made absorbent materials were considered for functionality and cost-effectiveness. Performance trials confirmed successful donning, doffing, and reduced contamination. This development aims to preserve self-efficacy, dignity, and improve the overall quality of life for users, while also lessening the burden on caregivers.
