Food and nutrition belongs to the central core of the dietary life leaning in the Health Education and these are studied on the topic, so the opportunity of leaning is not guaranteed. From the results of the above, this report propose that food, nutrition and food preparation which are fundamental contents of leaning will be fit for pupils in the lower and middle grade, and comprehensive leaning will be fit pupils in the higher grade in elementary school.

The subject, Kei, started scribbling at the age of 1 year, 1 month, 6 days, and copying letters at the age of 2 years, 6 months, 12 days along with drawing. In his previous studies, the author termed this primitive form of letters 'infants' letters' and investigated their origin and development and the process of learning Hiragana as well as the transformation of infants' letters in relation to letter learning. It is hypothesized that infants' letters develop when infants have a recognition of and a desire of communication while they cannot map thoughts onto letters due to insufficient knowledge of Hiragana. In order to test this hypothesis, it is necessary to identify the frequency with which infants' letters appear in their drawings and to analyze the relation between writing patterns and kinds of paper: plain paper, lined paper, and gridded paper.

A comparative study was conducted in order to analyze the effects of an original software developed for instructing undergraduate students to comprehend dynamics. This software is programmable by only describing physical relations between materials observed in daily life. What characterize this software is its capability of simulating physical phenomena on the display of a personal computer by setting the temporal parameters. In this study we demonstrate that our software has positive effects on the instruction of dynamics, because the subjects attained a higher level of understanding the basics in physics with this software than they did without it; that is, learners can dispense with the time to master the programming of this language before they go into their primary concern, i.e. learning physics.

In order to find out the teaching material developments, we investigated the conception on homemaking education among female students, male students, and teachers in junior high school. Percentages of them who recognized the importance of homemaking education increased in the following order : male students, female students, and teachers. Percentages of them who supported the present homemaking co-education were 30.7% of the male students, 44.8% of the female students, and 49.0% of the teachers. All students thought that important contents learned in homemaking education were the manner and household work; the latter was strongly supported by female students. On the other hand, teachers thought that they were consumer education, the attitude toward housework, environmental education and vitality of life. By the factor analysis, the backgrounds of their selected contents were clarified.

Home Economics is studied by all elementary, junior-high and high-school aged students. But the curriculum contains many problems for male students. Especially bigger problems are emerging, concerning the clothing subject area. In a report of research for junior-high school teachers, the clothing subject area is expected to be taught more effectively and accurately. In order to clarify the teaching method to students and clothing curriculum contents, the textbooks used in America, in which the coeducational system is rooted ,are examined to make comparisons. Home Economics teachers in Japan are expected to acquire a greater understanding of the characteristics of Japanese textbooks due to the comparative results. Once these results are synthesized into Japanese textbook, it is hoped that they will be more comprehensive and easy to use for students.
