The white tuffaceous bed distributed in the northern part of the Itaya Station, the Ou line, was mainly composed of clinoptilolite and it was associated with quartz, α-cristobalite, plagioclase and montmorillonite. The clinoptilolite specimens were investigated by means of chemical analysis and x-ray powder method. The x-ray powder method showed that the principal constituent minerals of the material was clinoptilolite and the material was associated with small amounts of quartz and mordenite. And the chemical analysis of the material suggested that the specimen was a potassium rich one, then a name of potassium clinoptilolite was proposed to the material. Some industrial use of this material was investigated, also.
