This paper summarizes a research study conducted to provide insights for the preservation and restoration of waterscape facilities such as the well, the waterfall, and the stream in the garden of MUTSU Munemitsu’s Former Residence / Former Residence of FURUKAWA Family located in Oiso Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. The specific research included basic information such as length, width, and planar shape through photogrammetry and direct survey, as well as understanding the structure and presence of waterproof layers in the underground parts of the waterscape facilities through excavation surveys. As the results, this papered new findings about the waterscape facikities in this garden They are: 1) The Oiso sand dunes that takes advantage of the height difference starting from the well at the top of dunes and flowing through a waterfall stone arrangement to reach the lower area. 2) The waterfall stone arrangement is a unique design, unlike any other garden, primarily made from andesite and basalt. 3) It can be noted from the remains of the waterproof layer in the underground stream and the distribution range of basalt that there are two distinct periods: one when there was water stream and another when it was dry river.
