ジャーナル フリーAluminous shale is a sort of shale which contains considerable amounts of minute grains of diaspore besides kaolinite. There are nine layers of the shale in Permo-Carboniferous beds, which cover Ordvician limestone unconformably, and the layers are named as A, B, C, D, E, F and G from upper to lower.
Though aluminous shale, deposits in North China are found in almost all coal-fields of Permo-Carboniferous age, the deposits are only mined in such districts as Shih-men-chai, Kai-lan, Tzu-chuang and Pê-shan, where A and G layers of the shale were worked. Among 'them the deposit of G layer in Li-sui of Tza-chuang coal-field had been exploited in 1944 very quickly, on account of its best conditions for the open-cut mining of large scale, resulting to grow, only in one year, up the largest scale mine, equipped with electric hoppers of 8, 000 ton capacity, railways, locomotives etc. which amount to the ability of annual 400 thousands tons production.

It is a boasted fact that during the War II, Japan could produce 30 thousands tons of aluminium from the shale, and that the telegraph wires which connect, even now, Sui-fêng powerhouse to An-shan Iron Works and to Ta-lien City in Manchuria, which distance amounts to about 1, 000km long, were made of above-mentioned aluminium.

ジャーナル フリーThough, there are four types of manganese deposits : are beds, replacement deposits, veins and residual deposits in Manchuria, are beds and replacement deposits are only economically workable. Almost all ores of sedimentary origin are low grade, but their are reserves are estimated to be large amount. Replacement deposits are chiefly found near the border between Je-ho and Chinchou. The ores are high grade, but their are reserves are rather small.
