In the era of aging society, the medical care which considers age and sex for diagnosis is required. In field of physical check-up, sex-age dependent reference intervals are needed for judgment of the condition of one's health. At HEP academic society, 2004year, adult clinical reference intervals for each sex and each generation with intervals of five years old using medical check-up data of 700, 000 people was announced.
We compare the rate that beyond the limits of sex-age dependent reference intervals with usual reference intervals using Shizuoka medical service center. For calculation of the rate, 13 items of health examination data of 26, 602 persons, was used. As a result, the number of abnormal people is decreased using sex-age dependent reference intervals as total cholesterol, but increased as triglyceride. We should use the sex-age dependent reference intervals with careful consideration. It seems to become future problem that the new reference intervals is however effectively utilized.
