A simple method of treating cobalt-60 and iodine-131 production liquid waste can be disposed completely after alkalized by sodium hydroxide and then run through the soil wastes of coal ball column; while the iodine-131 production liquid waste can be disposed completely after reduced by sodium bisulfite, alkalized by sodium hydroxide and finally run through the soil wastes of coal ball column. The present method is better than the adsorption method through soils, for the liquid wastes can go through the soil wastes of coal ball more freely. The decontamination factor of this method is very high. Under the experimental conditions, one hundred grams of the soil wastes of coal can be used to dispose more than 15 liters of cobalt-60 liquid waste and 10 liters of iodine-131 production liquid waste respectively.

A characteristic test was performed for the radiation monitors installed in Research Reactor Institute of Kyoto University.
All of these monitors are as follows.
    1) Dust monitors, 9 equip., same type,
    2) Gas monitor, one equip.,
    3) Water monitors, 8 equip., five types,
    4) Area monitors of gamma-rays, 19 equip., two types,
    5) Area monitor of thermal neutrons, one equip.,
    6) Hand-Foot-Cloth monitors, three equip., same type,
    7) Floor monitors, two equip., same type.
The performance tests of all equipments were almost satisfied except a part of the water monitors and the dust monitors.

The indispensable requisites to which the decision of the siting for a Nuclear Power Reactor is to be subjected are so complicated with a consideration of social conditions, natural environments, industrial surroundings etc. incorporated and eventurally consolidated.
The condition of isolation required from the view to ensuring the safety for the public even in case of most unlikely accident would be almost inconsistent with the requisites for the economical preference of siting in bulky electric consuming areas.
In this paper, the authors' effort is to cover from the outline of the Site Criteria in USA and UK and “A Guide in Reactor Site Evaluation” in Japan to the detailed and general requirements with respect to the choice of Nuclear Power Reactor Site, showing example of siting four Nuclear Power Stations in Japan together with safety analysis thereof as on the attached list.

An accident of internal exposure took place on March 10, 1966 at National Institute of Radiological Sciences, when a researcher was engaged in preparation and fractionization procedures of Pu-239 solution to be used in the research project on internal exposure by Pu-239.
A man of 37 years old carrying out the procedure within a glovebox had his left forefinger accidentally stuck into through four-fold layers of rubber gloves by a highly contaminated needle of injection pump he had used in fractionization work, when he tried to dispose it by his right hand into a plastic tube held by his left hand.
Speedy and accurate determination of the contaminated portion of the finger and its levels of radioactivity followed by a surgical removal of contaminated tissues and other adequate medical treatments, including the administration of chelating agent, made the radiation hazards retained at the minimum.
This paper describes briefly the circumstances, causes and medical and health physical treatments of this accident.

The new recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection, adopted September 17, 1965, were reviewed, emphasis being placed on any changes and additions from and to the previous recommendations. A number of new concepts and technical terms have been introduced in the Recommendations, e. g., the concept of risk, differentiation between controllable and uncoutrolled sources of exposure, dose commitment concept, and the definitions of Maximum Permissible Doses, Dose Limits and Action Levels.
